AWARDS SHOW MUSICAL CHAIRS: GOLDEN GLOBES TAKE OSCARS’ OLD DATE – (06/23/2020)
The Golden Globes will take place a little later this year. In a game of awards show musical chairs, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC on Monday announced the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on February 28th, 2021, which, if you’re keeping track, is the same date the Oscars were set to air. The Oscars have danced down the road to April, as the coronavirus pandemic has put movie production on standby, and submission deadlines have had to shift.
The BAFTAS, which normally take place two weeks before the Oscars, have also shifted, to April 11, 2021.
As previously announced, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host. The Globes normally take place in early January.

COLE SPROUSE AND LILI REINHART DENY SEXUAL ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS – (06/23/2020)
STATIONS: Please note the following story contains language that could be considered offensive to your audience.
Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart are responding to allegations that they and two other members of the Riverdale cast are guilty of sexual assault or harassment.
Sprouse tweeted late Sunday: “Earlier today myself and three other cast mates were falsely accused of sexual offense by anonymous accounts on twitter. I take these accusations very seriously, and will be working with the right teams to get to the root of it.”
“False accusations do tremendous damage to victims of actual assault. Furthermore, I would never seek to silence anybody,” the Suite Life of Zack & Cody alum continued. “I encourage that people look into the accusations themselves, as the events detailed were factually untrue. This seems to be the latest claim in a series of incidents seeking to baselessly cancel my cast mates and me.”
Reinhart then quoted his tweet and added: “I have always taken sexual assault allegations seriously. But it was proven that this account was created specifically to create false stories about me and my cast. I can’t think of something more twisted than lying about sexual assault. It invalidates the men and women who are brave enough to come forward with the truth. This kind of lie can ruin lives and careers- and I can call it a lie because the person who made the allegations already admitted that the stories were fabricated.”
She continued: “We are looking into taking legal action. This kind of sick behavior only harms true survivors. This was incredibly triggering for me and scary because I’ve always supported survivors and believed them. I hope and pray that this does not discourage real survivors from speaking out about their experiences.”
The accusations were issued by an account with the handle @Victori66680029. Sprouse was accused of assault at a 2013 party, and similar allegations of misconduct were then issued against his costars Vanessa Morgan and KJ Apa on other anonymous Twitter accounts.
Reinhart’s accuser, @Tasha93948576 later tweeted: “Do you see how easy it is lie and you guys will believe it? Vanessa Morgan and Kj Apa didn’t do jack s—t. You will believe anything.” The account has since been deleted.
This comes after allegations of sexual assault against Ansel Elgort and Justin Bieber emerged on Twitter; both celebs denied the accusations.

BILLIE EILISH GETS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST STALKER EXTENDED FOR THREE YEARS – (06/23/2020)
Billie Eilish and her family got a judge to extend a restraining order against a stalker for three more years.
The man, 24-year-old Prenell Rousseau, showed up repeatedly at the Eilish family’s Los Angeles home over two days in early May and displayed what was described as “erratic behavior.” He is now barred from attempting to contact or coming within 100 yards of Eilish or her parents, or from coming near Eilish’s workplaces.
Eilish, her attorney and her parents phoned in to last week’s hearing, held in a courtroom that was empty except for a reporter from the Associated Press and court staff because of coronavirus restrictions. All including the judge wore face masks. Eilish did not speak.
Neither Rousseau nor an attorney for him appeared at the hearing, and messages left by Billboard with possible relatives of the man were not returned.
Rousseau allegedly tried to gain access to the Eilish home, rang the doorbell, spoke to Eilish’s father and security guards, and even took a nap by an outer wall. He did not practice coronavirus-appropriate physical distancing, nor did he wear protective gear properly while speaking to staff. He also refused to leave when asked.

Nicki responded to her fans, saying, “no words yet. All I can muster up is the ‘I love you’. Gimme a sec.”
She later told the barbs in a video, “Congratulations, Barbs. Y’all did this with no playlisting and no radio and it’s just not happening in 2020. All the records on the top of the chart right now are doing that with heavy playlisting and radio so for us to do that, debuting, that’s insane. So I love you guys so much. We just did the highest pure sales of the year of every song released. You can’t buy that. That’s fan love.”
Nicki added, “It’s a couple of things I want to get off my chest. There are certain things that have been going on in this industry for just way too long. I think it’s time for me to speak on it, a little bit. But in the meantime, and y’all know 6ix9ine going to be doing a lot this week. So, be prepared for that. I love you.” -Nicki Minaj’s Twitter
