‘AVENGERS’ AND ‘RIVERDALE’ WIN BIG AT TEEN CHOICE AWARDS – (08/12/2019)

Avengers: Endgame and Riverdale were the night’s biggest winners at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, which aired last night (August 11th) on Fox. The evening celebrated the best of music, film, the internet, television and more, according to teenagers who vote. Instead of snagging statuettes though, winners land surfboards, because #teens.

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and YouTube sensation David Dobrik took on hosting duties, and set the fun tone for an upbeat, empowering celebration with 10,000 teen revelers on the beach and millions watching on TV and online.

The CW‘s Riverdale took home the award for Choice Drama TV show, while Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart took home the award for Choice Drama TV actor and actress respectively for their work on the show. They also snagged Choice Ship for their mysterious are-they-or-aren’t-they-dating-anymore romance.

Netflix‘s Stranger Things also won big, snagging Choice Summer TV Show, and Summer TV Actor and Actress for Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown, respectively.

On the movie side, Avengers: Endgame took home the trophy for Choice Action Movie.

Another big winner was Taylor Swift, who took the first-ever Icon Award and gave fans a pep talk about gender equality, making mistakes, the crazy world we live in, and the joys of cute kitties. Swift, per usual, saved her major scoop for the end, telling viewers that they can expect a new single, “Lover,” from her on Friday, August 16^th.

The Jonas Brothers, who snagged the Decade Award, also brought the pep rally spirit and reminded viewers that they were bullied once too … and that it does get better.

PERFORMANCES

One Republic performed “Counting Stars” and “Rescue Me.”

Monsta X rocked “Who Do U Love?”

CNCO hit the stage with “Pretend.”

Jordan McGraw and Sarah Hyland brought their collaboration “Met at a Party” to the stage.

Blanco Brown showed the kids how to do “The Git Up.”

Mabel said just don’t bother, “Don’t Call Me Up.”

MILEY CYRUS AND LIAM HEMSWORTH SEPARATE AFTER SHORT MARRIAGE – (08/12/2019)

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have split up less than a year after exchanging marriage vows.

Cyrus shared photos from her Nashville wedding on December 23rd. In June, she denied rumors her 10-year romance with Hemsworth was over. “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” Cyrus’ rep said. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Entertainment Tonight published photos this weekend of Cyrus kissing and cuddling reality TV personality Kaitlynn Carter while they are on vacation in Italy. Carter confirmed last week that she broke up with Brody Jenner after six years. Brody doesn’t seem to mind.

“Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today,” Brody captioned a picture of himself on his Instagram on Sunday.

“Let’s round this scandal out and post a pic of us making out 😘,” Brandon Thomas Lee then commented.

“🤣 watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon 👬,” he responded to Brandon. Miley then chimed in with a comment of her own: “@brodyjenner go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer 👯”

Miley also posted her first public comments about this new chapter in her life. “New day. New adventure,” Miley wrote Sunday on her socials, captioning one of three photos she posted her herself hiking in The Dolomites, a mountain range in northeastern Italy.

In a second photo, Miley shared a longer message: “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” it begins. “Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.”

A third photo Miley posted of herself, framed against lush green hills with mountain peaks in the distance, was accompanied by the simple message, “Life’s a climb… but the view is great.”

Miley and Liam first met on the set of the film The Last Song in 2009. They split in 2013 but reunited two years later, and tied the knot in a private ceremony in December 2018. They celebrated their 10-year anniversary as a couple in June.

MIKE POSNER STRUGGLING TO WALK AFTER RATTLESNAKE BITE – (08/12/2019)

Mike Posner posted an update on Saturday after news broke that he was bit by a baby rattlesnake and airlifted to treatment on Thursday.

Mike was crossing from Kansas to Colorado on an epic walk across the United States when he was bit. He also sent a thank you message to more than a dozen ICU staffers, and noted that he would continue physical therapy in order to walk again.

“From 24 miles per day to using this walker to get to bathroom. I’m on my way back. Gonna rebuild with patience and equanimity. HUGE shout outs to Stephanie, Fergie, Bo, Angie, Eddie, mike, dr black, dr van Birmingham, dr Gordon, dr Shapiro, Natalie, carol, Megan, Jeremy, and my whole family in ICU. Molly and her husband from PT are gonna come help me walk again tomorrow. KEEP GOING,” he captioned a video of himself struggling to walk with a walker.

He later shared a video from his hospital bed of him reciting what appear to be new song lyrics that focus on his frustrations with the distracted way he lives his life.

“I knew walking across America was going to be dangerous. I knew I could die doing it. I still might. So don’t feel sorry for me. I’m proud I’m in this hospital after chasing my dream and not sitting on the couch watching Netflix. I’m proud of this pain. If you understand this message, do not leave me sympathy comments, just write KEEP GOING. 🌳🌼🦁✨🙏🏻” he wrote in another post.

He continued, writing that he would be in the hospital for “a few days,” and would be unable to walk for several weeks, but hoped to start up his trip again as soon as possible.

A rep for Posner said he will be okay, but “needs to recover for a few weeks.”

BEBE REXHA TEXTS HER NUMBER NEIGHBOR: Bebe Rexha texted her number neighbor with fun results. The 29-year-old singer jumped on the Twitter trend to text the person with the phone number that is one digit above or below your own. Bebe took to her own Twitter to share her interaction with her number neighbor. “Omg I texted my #numberneighbor,” Bebe wrote. In the cute interaction, Bebe said hello and asked if the other person had heard about the trend but didn’t reveal who she was. The neighbor followed up by asking what she was like and Bebe teased her identity by telling the neighbor her favorite musician was Bebe Rexha. When the neighbor said she knew who that was, Bebe followed up surprising her neighbor with a selfie.
