TAYLOR SWIFT DONATES $15,500 TO FAN’S SICK MOTHER – (10/24/2018)
Taylor Swift’s has donated $15,500 to the GoFundMe page set up by a young fan whose mom has been in a coma for three years.
Earlier this month, the fan, Sadie, tweeted out the link to her GoFundMe page and wrote to her fellow Swifties, “Hey guys. I’m really nervous to post this. Please help if you can and pray for my family. I’m sorry I never said anything sooner and that I’m suddenly asking for help. I love you guys so much.”
The tweet contained the text of a lengthy letter in which Sadie explained that her mom has been in a coma due to an ulcer that bled and cut off oxygen to her brain. While she’s made some progress, she is still considered to be comatose until she’s able to communicate.
At the GoFundMe link, the “most-liked” donation is Taylor’s, and it reads, “Love, Taylor, Meredith and Olivia Swift.”
Thanks to Taylor, the GoFundMe site has now raised more than $26,000 of its $40,000 goal.
HALSEY & G-EAZY REPORTEDLY SPLIT – AGAIN: It looks like Halsey & G-Eazy are over – again. Two months after reconciling after their brief split over the summer, the 24-year-old singer and the 29-year-old rapper have called it quits again. The two have even stopped following each other on social media. “It’s over again for now,” a source told People. “He was partying over the weekend and girls were all over him. He didn’t care who saw.” The pair first started dating back in the summer of 2017 and Halsey confirmed back in July 2018 that they had split to focus on their careers. Less than two months later, the two confirmed they were back together.
BRITNEY SPEARS SALUTES HER FANS ON ‘…BABY ONE MORE TIME’S’ 20TH ANNIVERSARY – (10/24/2018)
Britney Spears took to social media on Tuesday to mark a milestone: October 23, 1998, was the day her debut single, “…Baby One More Time,” was released.
“It’s hard to put into words what today means to me, 20 years ago, the world heard my music for the very first time,” she wrote. “So much has happened since then but what I really want to say is thank you to my amazing fans who have been there for me since day 1.”
“Your support over the years has meant the absolute world to me!! Love you all!” she concluded.
Britney’s post also included a snippet of behind-the-scenes footage of her iconic video for “…Baby One More Time.” A longer version on YouTube features an interview with 16-year-old Britney, who says of the soon-to-be global smash, “It’s, like, an upbeat, y’know, heart song. I like it a lot.”
“If I heard my song on the radio…that’d be so cool,” she adds. “I would love that. I think that’d be a great experience.”
Although she was a relatively unknown singer at the time of its release, the song went on to become her first No. 1 hit – and to date, has sold over 10 million copies, according to Billboard.
PRINCE HARRY DRINKING WATER TO SUPPORT MEGHAN MARKLE – (10/24/2018)
What a guy! Prince Harry knows his pregnant wife Meghan Markle can’t partake in alcohol these days, so he is also abstaining in solidarity. At a black tie reception hosted by the Fijian prime minister he toasted with water, instead of bubbly.
They’re currently on a 16-day tour of the region; sadly, the pregnancy has delayed the royal family’s scheduled visit tot he U.S., but when they do come, a royal tot will be in tow!
Twitter, meanwhile, melted into a puddle at Harry’s gesture, declaring him the “best husband ever.”
THE WALKING DEAD RATINGS PLUMMET: As Andrew Lincoln’s exit from The Walking Dead approaches, viewers seem less invested in the AMC show. Overall viewership was up 2% to 5 million on October 21, but the live + same day results among adults 18-49 were a declining 1.94, Deadline reports. The 18-49 result also saw a fall of 50% from what the Greg Nicotero-helmed third episode of Season 8 garnered back on November 5, 2017. Lincoln will be officially out of the AMC series as of November 4th.
