SELENA GOMEZ SCORES FIRST-EVER BILLBOARD HOT 100 NO. 1 HIT WITH ‘LOSE YOU TO LOVE ME’ – (11/05/2019)

Selena Gomez’s new single, “Lose You to Love Me,” has become her first-ever song to top the Billboard Hot 100.

Selena wrote on Instagram, “My first number 1!! This song is so dear to my heart. I’ve been working so hard to make this album as honest and fun as possible while remaining vulnerable enough to share where I am in life.” She adds, “I love you deeply and thank you so much for listening. I want to thank each and every person that was a part of this moment that I’ll never forget!”

The follow-up song “Look at Her Now,” which she released 24 hours after “Lose You to Love Me,” has debuted at No. 27 on the Hot 100. Overall, “Lose You to Love Me” is Selena’s 28th song to chart on the Hot 100; seven of them have gone Top 10. Before this new song, the highest she’d ever gotten on the chart was No. 5, with both “Same Old Love” and “Good For You.”

Selena will perform at the 2019 American Music Awards on November 24th on ABC. It’ll be her first live TV performance in two years.

Camila Cabello, Lana Del Rey and Troye Sivan will be celebrating the start of the holiday season with country singer Kacey Musgraves.

BILLIE EILISH PLANS TO RELEASE TWO NEW SONGS SOON – (11/05/2019)

Billie Eilish has revealed that she has new music on the way soon, in addition to a fresh music video for her single “Xanny.” Eilish said on one of her Instagram stories, “Yes, the ‘Xanny’ music video is coming. Yes, I have two unreleased songs that are coming that you haven’t heard any of. Be patient, damn!”

Eilish stopped short of laying out a timeline for these three releases, but she and brother/primary collaborator Finneas have reportedly been hard at work on all-new songs for some time now. Finneas told Apple Music last month, “We’re deep into the creative process on new material for sure.”

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old Eilish is still supporting her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

The “Bad Guy” singer will embark on a worldwide arena tour in 2020 in support of the LP. North American dates begin on March 9th in Miami. She will close out the North American leg on April 11th in Vancouver.

LORDE’S NEW ALBUM DELAYED FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF HER DOG – (11/05/2019)

Lorde’s new album may arrive later than expected due to her beloved dog passing away.

In a message to her fans, Lorde wrote, “Pearl came into my life in 2018, and almost immediately changed everything for me.  As anyone who has had the pleasure of raising a dog can understand, my life grew exponentially. Pearl brought an immeasurable amount of joy and purpose into my world.”

She explained that her pup battled health issues for an extended period. “It was a long process of figuring out what this illness was, and after he dropped some weight over a few weeks in October, a kind specialist finally honed in on the problem,” she wrote.

The singer didn’t disclose Pearl’s exact illness, but she said she thought he was getting better – until things took a turn for the worse.

“One day we woke up and I knew, in that way mothers do, that he was sicker than we had realized, and that we were nearing a point where his body wasn’t going to be able to cope,” she wrote.

Pearl suffered two cardiac arrests an hour apart and died in the singer’s arms.

“This loss has been indescribably painful, and a light that was turned on for me has gone out,” Lord wrote.

Because of this tragedy, the singer said she needs “some time and recalibration” and asked her fans to have patience. “I have lost my boy, and I need some time to see the good again, to finish making this for you,” she wrote, referring to her follow up to 2017’s Melodrama.

“It won’t be the same work,” said Lorde, “and anyone who has felt loss can understand, there’s a door that opens that you step through, and everything is different on the other side.”
