SOURCE: BEYONCE IS IN TALKS WITH KELLY ROWLAND & MICHELLE WILLIAMS ABOUT DC REUNION – (08/06/2019)
Rumor has it that Destiny’s Child may be reuniting once again! On the heels of the 20th anniversary of their second album The Writing’s On The Wall, The Sun reported that the trio is in talks of reuniting next year — the 20th anniversary of Michelle Williams joining the group.
The source said,“Beyonce has been desperate to get the girls back together with her in the studio and she can’t think of a better time than 2020, when they will be marking two decades as one of the world’s biggest all-female groups. She saw the success of the Spice Girls tour and wants to replicate that — but far bigger and better.”
The source added, “Beyonce has been meeting with Kelly and Michelle and discussing what they can do. It’s early days but they want to record new music and put it out alongside some of their biggest hits. Then they want to do a tour which will be short enough for them to fit it into their schedules, but big enough to make sure all their fans can make a date to see them.”
Meanwhile, Kelly recently said that a DC reunion ain’t happening. She said in an interview, “We haven’t talked about it. It hasn’t been on our radar. Everybody’s, like, basically doing their own projects right now and we’re just supporting each other.”
LIL NAS X EXTENDS HIS BILLBOARD HOT 100 RECORD TO 18TH WEEK; COVERS GQ HYPE – (08/06/2019)
Lil Nas X’s smash hit song “Old Town Road” has earned an 18th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, extending his record of the most weeks spent on top of the chart.
The 20-year-old rapper, who collaborated with Billy Ray Cyrus on the song, recently broke the 16-week record set by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men with their song “One Sweet Day.” Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber tied the record with their song “Despacito,” but no song had dethroned the track until now.
Meanwhile, Lil Nas X, real name Montero Hill, appears on the cover of British GQ Hype this month, and spoke to the magazine about what he’s doing after “Old Town Road” and what people have been saying to him since he came out as a gay man.
Although he has felt a little overwhelmed at “having to be a voice” as a gay black man, Lil Nas is proud that his decision to come out has helped other young homosexual men in his community. He said, “Live your life to its fullest potential and don’t really care too much about what other people think of you. I used to say that cliché, but I never really lived by it, until now. Since I came out, people have been coming up to me saying, ‘You’re making a way for us’.”
“I’m still in the first stage of figuring out who I am,” he added. “I don’t know what kind of music I’ll be making ten years from now. I want to do everything and I’m still learning how I work. But the one thing I’ll always know is that people don’t know what they want until they get it. They didn’t know they wanted a song about taking a horse to the old town road in 2019. But they did.”
This time last year, Lil Nas had just finished high school and was running a Nicki Minaj fan account as well as jumping from various jobs at theme parks to chicken fast food chains and he had no idea what his future entailed. Everything changed when his song ‘Old Town Road’ became a huge global hit after it was released last December and he admits he still finds it crazy to think so many people love his track. He said: “I’m happy it’s become a part of so many people’s lives. Kids are going to grow up with that song and play it to remember these times, which makes me feel amazing. It’d never have made it out there without the meme culture that embraced it.”
Lil Nas promoted the track himself with the use of videos, images, and memes on social media and it became a viral sensation as well as a chart hit and he recorded a number of “Old Town Road” remixes of “Old Town Road.”

ED SHEERAN’S ‘DIVIDE TOUR’ IS THE HIGHEST-GROSSING TOUR OF ALL TIME: Ed Sheeran’s Divide Tour has set the new record for highest-grossing concert tour ever. A Hannover, Germany, show on Friday will put him over the top, getting the tour to $736.7 million in revenue. This will put Sheeran’s tour just beyond the record of $735.4 million generated by the U2 360° Tour, which ended in 2011. These numbers don’t adjust for inflation, however. Sheeran’s tour has also lasted longer than the U2 one; it will have gone 893 days by the time it wraps up later this month, while U2’s was 760 days. Sheeran’s tour had previously passed U2’s in terms of tickets sold. Sheeran celebrated the news as “amazing.” He had evidently set his sights on accomplishing this feat long ago, with agent Louis Messina telling The Wall Street Journal in June, “He told me before the tour even started – I want to break U2’s record.”
‘OLD TOWN ROAD’ SIGNS DISAPPEARING FROM CANADIAN TOWN: Now officially the longest running No. 1 song in chart history, the obsession with Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” has even reached Sicamous, British Columbia, where people are stealing street signs from an actual Old Town Road in the municipality. Municipal staff said multiple signs for the road have gone missing in the wake of the song’s ascent up the charts. Officials say the cost of thefts isn’t significant, and district staff likely won’t even get the RCMP involved. Instead, they’ll be selling replica Old Town Road signs for $25 each. “We’re just having fun with it – turning a negative into a positive,” said the staffmember. “Why not? It’s fun, easy attention for the town.” “Old Town Road” has spent 17 weeks at No. 1, beating out the previous record of 16 weeks, which was tied by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.”

KATY PERRY & CO-DEFENDANTS OWE $2.78 MILLION IN ‘DARK HORSE’ LAWSUIT: Katy Perry was sued for copyright infringement over her song “Dark Horse” and a jury decided that she and her co-defendants had copied the song from Flame’s “Joyful Noise.” Now, Katy, producer Dr. Luke, record label Capitol Records, and others are on the hook for a combined $2.78 million in damages, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The bulk of the money will come from Capitol Records and Katy owes just over half a million dollars. The money will go to songwriter Marcus Gray and his co-plaintiffs. During the trial, Katy testified that she’d never heard “Joyful Noise” before. The plaintiffs argued that Katy’s parents are both pastors and she started her career as a Christian pop singer, which may have made it more likely that she had heard Gray’s song. Katy countered that she was “mostly always listening to … secular music anyway,” even during the early part of her career as a Christian singer.

Ed Sheeran is mourning the loss of his beloved rescue cat, Graham.
He posted a photo of Graham as a kitten perched on his guitar and captioned it with the broken heart emoji on Thursday.
Ed rescued the cat back in 2014, but Graham was reportedly being looked after by his manager, Stuart Camp, and Stuart’s partner, Liberty Shaw, while Ed was on tour. Liberty revealed the animal’s passing on her own Instagram page.
“Our lovely little bud Baby Ba Boo aka Graham the Kitten passed away last night after being hit by a car,” she wrote, alongside a photo of the cat’s tiny paws. “We are absolutely heartbroken. He was such a dude. Funny and clever and best mates with a massive German Shepherd. We are going miss you so much. Thanks for all the fun.”
When he first adopted Graham, Ed started a Twitter feed for him, and started an Instagram page for two of his and his wife’s other cats, Calippo and Dorito.
