‘STRANGER THINGS,’ ‘SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME,’ SHAWN MENDES LEAD TEEN CHOICE 2019 SECOND & FINAL WAVE OF NOMINEES – (07/09/2019)
The second and final wave of Teen Choice 2019 nominees have been announced and “Stranger Things” leads with six nominations.
Spider-Man: Far From Home, Murder Mystery and The Last Summer are the front-runners in film with three nominations each.
Pop star Shawn Mendes tops the music category with three nominations.
The star-studded two-hour live event airs, for the first time, from Hermosa Beach, California, August 11th on FOX. Voting is open via https://fox.tv/TCA19 and Twitter. Fans are allowed 10 votes per category, per day, per platform user ID, for their favorite Teen Choice 2019 “wave two” nominees.

CAMERON BOYCE’S ASSUMED CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED, AUTOPSY AHEAD – (07/09/2019)
Cameron Boyce died after an epileptic seizure in his sleep on Saturday, according to multiple reports. The 20-year-old Disney star kept his epilepsy hidden from the public, as he rose to stardom in Grown Ups, Jessie, the Descendants and Mirrors.
Law enforcement officials tell The Blast that because of his age, an autopsy will be performed to find out if he had any drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death. The results may take weeks.
In his last interview with Haute Living in May, he opened up about his desire to make a difference: “There’s a long line of difference makers in my family. I’m following in the footsteps of some really strong men and women who have showed me what it means to give back; it’s the greatest way to fulfill yourself.”
Boyce also paid tribute to his African American heritage in the interview. His grandmother, Jo Ann Allen Boyce, was one of the “Clinton 12,” a group of black students who desegregated Clinton High School in Tennessee after 1954’s Supreme Court Ruling, Brown Vs. Board of Education.
He said: “Her story doesn’t just inspire me … It hits home with everyone who stops to listen to it. She and the other 11 students set the stage for our generation to come together. We have to ensure — especially with some of the controversy plaguing us now — that we continue to push towards dreams that have yet to be realized. Equality in its truest sense.”
“Being African American and Jewish, I have plenty of ancestors and family members that I can look to for strength, and more importantly, for a grateful outlook on life,” he said. “Every one of them clawed and scratched for my sister and I to be in the position we’re in today.”
Boyce walked the walk, volunteering for and contributing to multiple charitable endeavors.
Last April, he won the Pioneering Spirit Award at the 9th Annual Thirst Gala for raising more than $30,000 to build two new wells in Swaziland.

SHAWN MENDES AND CAMILA CABELLO CONTINUE TO SPARK ROMANCE RUMORS: After being seen together looking cozy last week – including on the Fourth of July – Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello continue to spark romance rumors. E! Online reports the “Señorita” duet partners were spotted having brunch together in West Hollywood. An eyewitness dishes, “They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. They went to brunch for about an hour and a half then went to a spa in West Hollywood. They both kept playing around, dancing and joking with each other.” In addition, Camila attended Shawn’s concert at L.A.’s Staples Center on Friday night, and posted on her Instagram story, “@Shawnmendes you couldn’t be more amazing. Wow” and “You’re unreal.” She also added a heart emoji to her post. Following the release of the pair’s steamy video for “Señorita,” Camila reportedly split with her longtime boyfriend, Matthew Hussey. However, when Shawn was asked by a fan during a backstage Q&A session if he and Camila were dating, he shook his head no.
JUSTIN BIEBER TAUNTS TOM CRUISE AS HE NAILS THE #BOTTLECAPCHALLENGE – (07/09/2019)
Over the weekend, Justin Bieber used the #BottleCapChallenge to continue his bizarre obsession with the idea of fighting Tom Cruise.
In his Instagram video, a shirtless Justin announces, “This could be Tom Cruise’s head,” before nailing the challenge, which involves kicking a loosely-placed bottlecap with your foot so it spins off the bottle. In the caption, he challenges both Cruise and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, to do the stunt.
Last month, Bieber made an out-of-nowhere challenge to Cruise to get in the MMA octagon for battle. Just a few days later, though, he said he was just kidding, admitting that he doesn’t know Cruise and, besides, the action star would “probably whup my ass in a fight.”
That hasn’t stopped MMA executives from saying that they’d be happy to stage such a fight.
However, Hailey quickly accepted Justin’s nomination – but she did it a little differently. Hailey drove an ATV and stood on the side with her leg at a 90 degree angle. She kicked off the bottle cap as she drove by.

MARIAH CAREY PUTS HER OWN SPIN TO THE #BOTTLECAPCHALLENGE – (07/09/2019)
Mariah Carey confirmed that she is the ultimate diva when she took on the latest viral sensation to hit the Internet.
Mariah posted a video of herself taking part in the so-called #BottleCapChallenge – where social media users film themselves kicking off loosened soda bottle caps – and used her voice to magically remove a cap.
The singer, dressed in a form-hugging black dress, faced off against what looked like a bottle of white wine. She acts as though she’s about to use some karate move, but raises her finger to her ear and lets out a high-pitched note – and the cap goes flying.
She posted on Instagram: “Challenge accepted!”

DISNEY STAR CAMERON BOYCE DEAD AT AGE 20 – (07/08/2019)
Cameron Boyce, the star of Disney’s Descendants and Jessie has died at age 20. “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” a family spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News on Saturday night, sharing that the cause of the young actor’s death was due to “an ongoing medical condition.”
“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” the family spokesperson said. “We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
Boyce began his acting career at age 9 when he appeared in 2008’s Mirrors alongside Kiefer Sutherland.
He will appear in Descendants 3, which is yet to be released. He was also set to star in HBO’s Mrs. Fletcher, opposite Kathryn Hahn.
In addition to his acting, Boyce was involved in nonprofits, such as the Thirst Project, which aims to raise awareness about the global water crisis.
“From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News. “He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, castmates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”

ADAM SANDLER MOURNS CAMERON BOYCE’S PASSING: Actor Adam Sandler is mourning the loss of his former co-star Cameron Boyce, who died unexpectedly at age 20. Boyce played his son in Grown Ups. “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around,” Sandler tweeted. “Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.” (Fox)
ARIANA GRANDE’S SWEETENER TOUR SETS RECORD FOR VOTER REGISTRATION: Ariana Grande’s Sweeetner tour has been doing well at the box office – and has set a record for voter registration. Ariana teamed with the non-profit organization HeadCount to offer fans attending the tour an easy way to register to vote. HeadCount has now confirmed that, in terms of number of voters registered, it’s the organization’s most successful single artist tour since 2008. In addition, HeadCount confirms that the Sweetener tour has managed to register twice as many voters as any other tour in the past three years. HeadCount is affiliated with over 100 touring artists and more than 50 festivals. The Sweetener tour is poised to register even more voters, since it’s not scheduled to wrap until December 21st. HeadCount has registered about 600,000 voters since 2004. In addition to Ariana’s tour, they’re also working this summer on tours with Billie Eilish, Khalid and Carly Rae Jepsen. Additionally, volunteers will be at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands later this summer.
ARIANA GRANDE SHARES EMOTIONAL STATEMENT AFTER CRYING ON STAGE – (07/08/2019)
Ariana Grande took to Twitter on Sunday to share an emotional statement about how “wild” touring and life could be.
“I’m grateful for the sea of love I have around me everyday and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy that they have,” Ariana writes. “I’m grateful to work with the best musicians and dancers in the world. I’m grateful for my voice and my team. I’m grateful for this music.”
Ariana’s message comes after she started crying on stage during her performance of “R.E.M.” during her concert on Saturday night in St. Louis.
“I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when I’m still processing a lot,” Ariana continued. “So sometimes I cry a lot! I thank you for accepting my hummanness [sic].”
Ariana concluded: “I’m sharing this because I’m grateful and because I want you to know that if you too are hurting, you can push through and are not alone. It is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing/taking care of yourself at the same time…but I want you to know, you aren’t alone and I think you’re doing great. Love you.”
The tweet has since been deleted.

DEMI LOVATO ‘TAKING A BREAK’ FROM SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING DEATH OF DOG BAILEY – (07/05/2019)
Demi Lovato is taking time for herself after the death of her beloved dog, sharing the news she would be taking a break from social media with fans on Instagram.
Four days after the death of dog Bailey, Lovato shared a note with her followers, adding a red heart emoji. “Taking a break for a while,” she wrote on a black background. Earlier in the week, Lovato shared a number of photos of her late dog on Instagram, announcing the death of the pet: “RIP Bailey … We love and miss you already sweet girl,” she wrote.
Lovato’s hiatus from social media also comes shortly after she defended Scooter Braun in his ongoing feud with Taylor Swift after he acquired the rights to a large portion of her music catalog amid accusations of “bullying.”
After Todrick Hall weighed in on the feud, calling out Braun as “evil” and “homophobic,” Lovato stepped in to defend her now-manager. “Hey boo, [I don’t know] you or anything and this isn’t hate, but making claims that someone is homophobic is really serious,” Lovato first commented on Hall’s post. “Please don’t spread information that isn’t true because I can guarantee you Scooter isn’t. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, he wouldn’t have signed me if he was. No hate just trying to clear that up.”
She added, “I have dealt with bad people in this industry and Scooter is not one of them. He’s a good man. Personally, I’m grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop ‘dragging’ people or bullying them. There’s enough hate in this world as it is.”
“Y’all can come after me all you want but I’m always gonna stay loyal to my team,” she said. “I value loyalty more than most people in this world and if my name is gonna be brought into conversations I’m gonna stand up for myself and the ones on my team.”

MEGHAN MARKLE AND PRINCE HARRY WON’T REVEAL GODPARENTS – (07/05/2019)
Royal drama alert! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not reveal the names of the godparents they chose for baby Archie when he is baptized this weekend. In a statement, the palace revealed that the christening at Windsor Castle on Saturday will be private and that “the godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.”
The decision, predictably, sparked outrage in some circles, as some claim the pair are using taxpayer money (a reported $3 million+) to renovate their new home, while demanding complete privacy.
Royal biographer Penny Junor opined that the move is a “mistake.” Junor continued: “We’re not asking for Archie to become public property but to be able to share in the pleasure of his christening, I think it is only fair to give the public that pleasure.”
Among those rumored to be in the “running”: Meghan’s best friend, Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, friend Benita Litt, plus good friend and tennis star Serena Williams, lawyer Amal Clooney, wife of Hollywood star George, and Oprah Winfrey. Harry’s old schoolmates, brothers Thomas and Charlie van Straubenzee, could also reportedly be selected, along with Jake Warren, son of the Queen’s thoroughbred bloodstock adviser John Warren.
Photographer Chris Allerton will be there as the official photographer Saturday, and select images will be released. He also took their wedding photos and early images of them with Archie.
Meanwhile, Meghan popped over to Wimbledon Thursday, making a surprise appearance in support of her pal Williams. She brought two pals from college with her, Lindsey Roth and Genevieve Hills, sparking more godparent rumors.
