TAYLOR SWIFT SLAMMED FOR ALLEGED LYING AND BULLYING AFTER ATTACKING FORMER LABEL BOSS – (07/03/2019)
Taylor Swift is getting pushback after she posted a rant complaining about the sale of her music catalog to entertainment manager Scooter Braun’s company, Ithaca Holdings.
Swift said she is “sad and grossed out” by the sale and that she didn’t know it was happening until it was done. She also claimed in her post that Big Machine Records founder Scott Borchetta bullied her, didn’t promote her enough early on and didn’t give her the chance to purchase her catalog.
Now, Erik Logan, a board member for Big Machine Records and former Oprah Winfrey Network executive, says her claims are lies. Logan posted a lengthy and scathing letter to Swift on Twitter, accusing her of lying and bullying.
“Somewhere you have told a story to yourself that you have the right to change history, facts and re-frame every any story you want to fix with any narrative you wish,” Logan wrote. “But, as someone who has been by Scott’s side from before you were born, I’m not going to sit on the sidelines and allow you to rewrite history and bend the truth to justify your lack of understanding of a business deal.” Logan went on to say, “The facts will come out, you will be proven wrong and people will begin to see that the world you perpetuate, only through your lens, is NOT reality.” Logan then went on to slam Taylor’s personal and professional integrity, writing, “I also find it very interesting your use of the word bully. As I watch you attempt to re-write history and parse words, all from your massive platform, I’m reminded that’s what a real bully would do.”
“For someone who draws such power from being the “voice” and against all the things you talk about, I’m watching you violate what you allegedly stand for,” he wrote, adding, “You’re the real bully. Your power is fading, your shine is dull and this is what bully’s [sic] do, they lash out – especially when they are called to stand in the truth.”
Logan accused Swift of lying about the Big Machine offering her to buy her masters back, writing, “You can be mad at yourself that you didn’t want to accept a deal that you should have. That’s okay, in the real world that happens all the time. But you don’t get the right to twist the truth.”
He closed with a backhanded compliment: “You are one of the most talented and gifted performers and writers the industry has ever seen, but this is one area where you’re [sic] attempt to rewrite history just won’t work.”
The letter has since been deleted.
Meanwhile, a new report claims Braun reached out to have a private conversation with Swift. According to The Blast, sources say Braun is seeking to have a “mature and private” phone call with Taylor – but so far, Taylor’s not interested. He reportedly attempted to reach her through mutual friends on Monday morning, to no avail.
The website reports Braun was genuinely shocked by Swift’s statements, insisting that she knew all along that his company, Ithaca Holdings, was in the running to purchase Big Machine. Braun has yet to comment publicly on Swift’s social media comments, but Big Machine Records head Scott Borchetta, who helped launch Taylor’s career and sold the company to Braun, responded that he gave Taylor a heads up about the sale.
Borchetta also claimed that Taylor’s father, lawyer and manager were either on or aware of a shareholders call about the sale five days prior to the announcement, and that Borchetta gave Taylor the chance to own her masters, if she’d re-sign with his label. A rep for Taylor said her father, Scott Swift, was not on the call due to a strict non-disclosure agreement that would’ve forced him to withhold information from his own daughter.
Many have showed their overwhelming support of Swift, including Halsey, Camila Cabello, Cara Delevigne, Brendon Urie and more. Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Sia and more have spoken out and supported Braun.

ELLIE GOULDING NAILS THE #BOTTLECAPCHALLENGE – (07/03/2019)
The latest goofy internet challenge is the #BottleCapChallenge, which Ellie Goulding nailed.
The challenge involves putting a bottle cap loosely on top of a bottle and then performing a roundhouse kick, connecting with the cap only, and making it spin off the top of the bottle. You then challenge your friends to do the same.
In her Instagram video, someone holds a glass bottle in front of Ellie. She winds up, and executes the kick flawlessly, as the cap goes flying off. When someone on Twitter responded, “Doesn’t count someone is holding the bottle which makes it more sturdy Let’s not be a cheat,” Ellie snapped, “Oh, bugger off.”
Ellie is one of the biggest female celebrities to complete the challenge, and she wants to keep it going. “This challenge is way too much of a [sausage] fest for my liking,” she captioned the video, and then challenged Stella McCartney, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, as well as a few other women. She added, “STOP USING PLASTIC BOTTLES SUCKERS.”
MMA fighter Max Hollaway popularized the challenge by inviting John Mayer to do it – which he did, using a plastic bottle. Then John challenged actor Jason Statham, who completed it and then challenged director Guy Ritchie. He did it, and challenged David Beckham, Will Smith and actress Naomi Scott. It’s not clear who challenged Ellie to do it.

DID TAYLOR SWIFT SUGGEST JUSTIN BIEBER CHEATED ON SELENA GOMEZ? – (07/02/2019)
Taylor Swift might have just confirmed that Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez during their on-and-off again relationship.
Over the weekend, a huge feud erupted after Scooter Braun acquired Big Machine Label Group, which means all the music she wrote during her time at that music label is now owned by Scooter. Justin, while apologizing to Taylor on an Instagram post, defended his longtime manager. Now, Taylor is stoking the flames by liking a comment on Tumblr by one of her fans who suggested that Justin cheated on Selena.
“‘We haven’t gotten to communicate our differences.’ You cheated on her best friend and then publicly sided with the man who made revenge porn against her was she supposed to invite you over for tea??? F*** outta here,” one Tumblr user posted, citing a line from Justin’s post and referring to Kanye West’s “Famous” video. Later on, the Tumblr user posted a screen shot of Taylor liking the post. “Oh she’s MAD mad,” the social media user captioned the post. Selena just recently deleted the last remaining photo mentioning Justin from her Instagram.
Gomez herself has hinted that Bieber was unfaithful in their relationship, which ran on and off for nearly a decade. He’s now married to Hailey Baldwin.
“Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive,” Gomez wrote in an Instagram comment to Bieber back in 2016. And the year before this, Bieber suggested in an interview with i-D magazine that he cheated on Gomez. “You’re on the road. And there are beautiful women on the road. And you’re just getting yourself into trouble,” he said.
Meanwhile, Scooter Braun is hoping to open communication directly with Taylor Swift and has reportedly been trying to get in touch with her to have a private conversation. Scooter has not spoken out in response to Taylor’s scathing Tumblr post and sources say he won’t be making a public statement on the matter, according to JustJared.

BRENDON URIE SLAMS SCOOTER BRAUN – (07/02/2019)
Please note the following story and video contains language that could be considered offensive.
Taylor Swift’s “ME!” collaborator Brendon Urie has taken his pal’s side in her war of words with music mogul Scooter Braun, calling him “toxic” and a “piece of sh*t.”
The Panic! at the Disco star slammed the talent manager after Swift complained she felt “grossed out” knowing the music mogul – who she has accused of “bullying” her – now owns her master records after his takeover, and claimed she never got a chance to buy them herself.
Brendon said reading his friend’s statement “broke [his] heart,” and called the business deal “disgusting.” During a livestream on social media, the 32-year-old singer said: “This Scooter Braun sh*t, like what a piece of sh*t, right? You guys know about this dude? It just like broke my heart, I read Taylor’s statement and I was like, ‘That sounds about right.’ Toxic dudes doing toxic bullsh*t in this toxic industry.
“It’s disgusting, right? What a f*cking a**hole. I thought that was illegal, to do a business turn behind the people who write the stuff. Like you can’t do it without their knowledge. There’s a certain amount of time legally that you have to let the people know. There’s gotta be a precedent for that.”
Former Big Machine Records boss Scott Borchetta has disputed Taylor account and said she was offered a new record deal which would have given her back all her “assets,” including the master recordings and implied she knew about the deal before it was announced, something which Taylor’s rep says wasn’t the case.

CARDI B’S ATTEMPT TO TRADEMARK ‘OKURRR’ DENIED BY U.S. PATENT OFFICE – (07/02/2019)
Looks like Cardi B won’t be trademarking her catch phrase, “Okurrr” after all. According to the New York Daily News, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected her trademark for the phrase, which she applied for back in March to use on paper goods, such as cups and posters, and clothing, like T-shirts and undergarments.
The patent office is not allowing Cardi to register “Okurrr” because it is “commonplace term, message, or expression widely used by a variety of sources that merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognized concept or sentiment.”
They also said that the expression is “commonly used in the drag community and by celebrities as an alternate way of saying ‘OK’ or ‘something that is said to affirm when someone is being put in their place.’”
