JONAS BROTHERS ARE GOING TO ‘DO IT RIGHT’ THIS TIME AROUND – (06/03/2019)

The Jonas Brothers are determined to make the band work this time around.

Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas made an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning on Sunday and opened up about their reunion and the future for the band.

“Yeah, we got a do-over, and I think this time around we’re gonna do it right,” Joe said. “There’s not gonna be secrets between us. There’s not gonna be second-guessing. We’re not gonna be sitting around trying to call it off. We’re gonna just keep this thing going.”

When asked about making the choice to take a step back from the Jonas Brothers in 2013, Nick shares that he’s the one who suggested they dissolve their creative partnership for the time being to pursue new projects. He recalled the state of mind he and his brothers found themselves in when they made that difficult decision, and talked about the impact it had on their family ties as well:

[“To call it creative differences is almost too simple. I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. We were putting up shows that weren’t selling. We were making music that I don’t think we were all super proud of, and it wasn’t connecting. On top of all that, the root of all these real issues was our relationship was becoming strained.”]

“I had a very tough conversation with them where I laid it out for them,” Nick continued. “I said, ‘I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more, and we should go on individual journeys.’ Didn’t go so well.”

Joe adds that he “absolutely” thought the Jonas Brothers were finished by that point, and says that he was “checked out in my mind – that was it. There was going to be no more brothers, ever.” Nick was sure of that, too. “I feared that they would never speak to me again. For real. It took a couple months of tricky conversations and navigating all that for us to be able to reconnect, just as family again.”

As for their upcoming tour, the guys dished on how it’s going to be now that they’re all married.

“We don’t know,” Nick said. “That’s the best part about it.”

“But, it’s gonna be fun!” Kevin added.

DIPLO REACTS TO JOE JONAS SAYING HE ‘RUINED’ HIS WEDDING TO SOPHIE TURNER – (06/03/2019)

Diplo is reacting to Joe Jonas saying he ruined his wedding to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

The 40-year-old DJ and producer posted a response to Joe on his Instagram on Thursday. Diplo playfully captioned the pic: “The only thing that ‘ruined’ the wedding was your fit,” referring to the grey suit the singer wore on his big day. Taking the ribbing in stride, Jonas replied by commenting on the post with an eye roll emoji.

Earlier in the week, Joe was asked if the wedding was ruined because it was documented on Instagram by Diplo. “Diplo did. Yeah, he ruined it. I love Diplo, but he loves his ‘gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally, like, live-streamed with dog face filters.”

Although Sophie shares her husband’s outlook on the situation, given the choice, she would have kept their marriage under wraps for a while. “It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny,” she shared in a cover story for the latest issue of PORTER Edit. “I think at some point I would have had to stop saying ‘fiancé,’ but yes, I would have kept it a secret.”

FANS RAISE $45K FOR KIT HARINGTON’S CHARITY AMID REPORTS OF MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT – (06/03/2019)

Game of Thrones fans have Kit Harington’s back. Fans of the show created a JustGiving account for his U.K. charity Royal Mencap Society, which raised more than $45,000 in about a day. The rally appears to have been a response to reports that he entered treatment for mental health, including anxiety and alcohol dependence.

The charity is dedicated to working with people with learning disabilities. “Kit Harington has given so much to the fans of Game of Thrones over the past decade playing the King in the North, Jon Snow. He absolutely nailed his performance and we loved every second of screentime we had with him,” the online fundraiser reads.

It continued: “To show our gratitude, /r/Freefolk and other fans want to contribute to the charity Mencap, which Kit has been supporting for several years. Mencap supports people with learning disabilities to live independent and fulfilling lives.”

Following the hit HBO show’s ending, Harington entered a luxury wellness treatment center in Connecticut. The 32-year-old was photographed walking around Essex, Connecticut looking fit and happy.

BEBE REXHA AND THE CHAINSMOKERS GO BACKWARDS IN VIDEO FOR NEW COLLAB, ‘CALL YOU MINE’ – (06/03/2019)

Bebe Rexha and The Chainsmokers have teamed for a new song called “Call You Mine.”

They released the song Friday, along with a backwards video. The entire visual plays out in reverse, as Bebe evades the police in a Mercedes, with The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggert and Alex Pall lifeless in the backseat.

It turns out that Bebe is an obsessed stalker of the duo and had hatched a plan to get them alone, drug their drinks and kidnap them.

On Twitter, The Chainsmokers explained their connection to Bebe far predates this song.

“Just want to leave a note that @BebeRexha was one of the first artist we ever met,” they wrote. “We were both basically nobodies at the time but always were there for one another offering advice and supporting and now here we are 6 years later with a massive song together! We love you Bebe!”

Rexha released her own solo song “Last Hurrah” in February, and the The Chainsmokers are gearing up for their new project, World War Joy, sometime later this year. They hit the road with 5 Seconds Of Summer in August.

ADAM LEVINE GAVE UP A HUGE PAYCHECK BY LEAVING ‘THE VOICE’ – (05/31/2019)

New details are emerging about Adam Levine’s departure from The Voice.

It was announced last week that the Maroon 5 star would be leaving the NBC reality competition series after 16 seasons. The news came as a major surprise to fans, especially because Levine had previously been announced as one of the Season 17 coaches, along with Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. It’s since been revealed that Gwen Stefani will be joining the coaches for Season 17.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Levine had signed on for two more seasons before news of his exit emerged. As for his per-season salary, sources shared that the 40-year-old singer made “north of $14 million.” So, that means his deal for Seasons 17 and 18 would’ve been around $30 million.

Shortly after The Voice host Carson Daly announced Levine’s exit on the Today show, Levine opened up about his departure on Instagram, calling his time on the show “a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.” After thanking NBC, host Daly, as well as his fellow coaches, Levine thanked the fans.

“There’s literally no show without you guys,” Levine wrote. “For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING.”

JOE JONAS JOKES DIPLO ‘RUINED’ HIS VEGAS WEDDING TO SOPHIE TURNER – (05/31/2019)

Joe Jonas jokes that Diplo ruined his wedding to Sophie Turner by live-streaming the entire Las Vegas ceremony on his Instagram.

Jonas and Turner tied the knot in a spontaneous ceremony after the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last month, and Diplo was among the guests. Going live on Instagram, Diplo’s footage of the wedding quickly went viral.

“Yeah, he did ruin it,” Jonas said on the Capital Breakfast radio show when one of the DJs said “Diplo ruined it for you.” He continued, “I love Diplo, but he loves his ‘gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally, like, live-streamed with dog face filters.”

It turns out, the DJ-producer wasn’t exactly authorized to share the news on his social media.

But Joe and Sophie have no hard feelings. “We just laughed, we loved it, we thought it was ridiculous,” he said. “I just love that he was walking into the chapel like, ‘Gonna hit this wedding real quick.’”

JONAS BROTHERS FEEL THE HEAT ON NEW EPISODE OF ‘HOT ONES’ – (05/31/2019)

The Jonas Brothers are back and hotter than ever.

Nick, Joe, and Kevin kicked off Season 9 of Hot Ones by sitting down with First We Feast’s Sean Evans to answer some personal questions and snack on a sampling of spicy wings.

While living out some lyrics to their hit song, “Burnin’ Up,” the brothers discussed everything from their upcoming album, Happiness Begins, to the coffee cup in Game of Thrones, and fellow musicians.

In between choking down ridiculously spicy wings, the JoBros shared a lot, including an allegation that John Mayer ripped off one of their songs. Nick shared:

[“It’s funny you bring up John Mayer. He did kind of copy a song of ours. Little known fact. You can look it up on YouTube. “So the story is he came to us at the Grammys years ago and was like, ‘I love your song ‘Lovebug. Two years later, he released a song and the chorus is literally the same, but with different lyrics.”]

However, Nick said he and his brothers don’t hold a grudge. “It’s a compliment when someone does that,” he said. In fact, fans had previously noticed a resemblance between “Lovebug” and Mayer’s “Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967” off his 2012 Born and Raised album.

Joe, meanwhile, admitted he needs a teleprompter to remember the lyrics to some of their own songs.

[“I’m just gonna have these prompters on stage and be shameless about it. I don’t need them for every song, but 90% of the songs.”]

The Brothers also responded to a diss line from Jay-Z, who rapped about the band in his 2009 track “On to the Next One.” “No I’m not a Jonas Brother, I’m a grown up,” Jay-Z raps in the song. “No, I’m not a virgin, I use my cajones.”

Joe admitted that being name-checked in a Jay-Z song was “awesome,” but also pointed out that he had removed his purity ring by the time the song was released.

[“Little does Jay-Z know, I used my cajones since before that, so… joke’s on you, Jay-Z. Fact check your stuff.”]

The band’s new album, Happiness Begins, is set to release on June 7th, followed by a reunion tour – their first in nearly a decade.

Jeopardy host Alex Trebek has excellent news about his stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The beloved host reveals that, despite the cancer’s five-year survival rate of 9%, he seems to be humming along.

In a cover story for People magazine, Trebek says his “tumors have already shrunk by more than 50%.”

Trebek thanks his fans, saying: “I’ve got a couple million people out there who have expressed their good thoughts, their positive energy directed towards me and their prayers. I told the doctors, this has to be more than just the chemo, and they agreed it could very well be an important part of this. I’ve got a lot of love out there headed in my direction and a lot of prayer, and I will never ever minimize the value of that.”
