TAYLOR SWIFT TALKS EASTER EGGS, SHAVING HER LEGS & MORE ON ‘ELLEN’ – (05/16/2019)
Taylor Swift returned to The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday for her first interview with the TV host in four years – and brought a mea culpa with her.
Swift commented on everything from her new kitten, Benjamin, to whether or not she washes her legs in the shower (she does).
While playing the show’s “Burning Questions” game, when asked what the most rebellious thing she did as a teenager was, she responded: “Probably when I put Joe Jonas on blast on your show. That was too much.” The comment was in reference to an appearance she made on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2008. During the episode, she told the viewers that Jonas had broken up with her during a 27-second phone call.
Swift has been dating actor Joe Alwyn since mid-2017. Jonas married Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner earlier this month.
The 29-year-old singer, who is making the publicity rounds after releasing her new “ME” single last month, also debunked fan rumors that she was linked to the new Avengers: Endgame movie, because of the title’s similarity to her 2017 “Endgame” single.
[“There were some fans who thought I had something to do with ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ which I would have loved to have been asked, but I wasn’t asked to be in it at all. We had the (‘ME’) single coming out the same day (as the movie’s release) and I have a song that was called ‘Endgame,’ so they were like, ‘Oh my god, she’s gonna defeat Thanos,’ and I let everyone down, again.”]
Swift also discussed the Easter eggs she put in her new music video “ME!” with Brendon Urie. “I like to plant Easter eggs in a video that will be a lyric from unreleased music or a little hint or a little wink to what’s coming in the future,” she explained. “It’s just been really fun to expand the musical experience past just listening to a song.”
Swift later spoke more in-depth about the “ME!” video, which opens with Swift and Urie fighting in French. While the singer didn’t explain the hidden meaning behind the scene, she confirmed that the use of French is an Easter egg.
“I’ve tried to learn French several times in my life because I think it’s a really beautiful language,” she said. “I definitely made sure that I had native French speakers on set, cause I didn’t want to butcher the language of love.”
And for eagle-eyed fans watching the “Ellen” interview for Easter eggs about her forthcoming album, Swift also revealed that she sprinkled clues about her new music throughout her chat.
And when Ellen asked, “If you can’t sleep in the middle of the night, what do you do?” Swift answered, “I go downstairs and rummage through the kitchen and eat whatever I can find and it’s really less like a human being and more like a raccoon in a dumpster.”
Taylor also weigh in on whether she washes her legs in the shower, which has been a thing that people have been arguing about on Twitter lately. Swift’s answer: Yes, she does, but only because shaving your legs counts as washing them. “I do, ’cause when you shave your legs … the shaving cream is like soap, right? I kind of always shave my legs.”

BRITNEY SPEARS MAY NEVER PERFORM AGAIN – (05/16/2019)
Britney Spears may never perform again due to the mental state she is in, according to her longtime manager Larry Rudolph.
Rudolph told TMZ: “As the person who guides her career – based on the information I and all of the professionals who work with her are being told on a need-to-know basis – from what I have gathered it’s clear to me she should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again.”
Rudolph has managed Spears for most of her career, going back to her first album, Baby… One More Time, in 1999. “I’ve been with her for two-thirds of her life,” he tells Variety. “I look at her almost like I look at my own daughter. It’s very emotional for me … and really rough. Personally, I want for her to just find a peaceful, happy place – whatever that means for her. It’s not about a career anymore – it’s about life.”
Rudolph says he hasn’t spoken to Britney “in four or five months.” At the same time, Rudolph says he’s happy that Spears “is not thinking about her business and her career – she’s dealing with these issues. Her not calling me tells me that she’s taking care of herself.”
Spears is scheduled to undergo psychological evaluation after postponing her Las Vegas residency in the wake of her father’s recent treatment for a ruptured colon.

‘GAME OF THRONES’ FANS LAUNCH PETITION DEMANDING REDO OF FINAL SEASON – (05/16/2019)
Game of Thrones fans are out for blood! The HBO juggernaut is in its final season, and fans are not happy with how it’s playing out. Their dissatisfaction has come to a head in the form of a Change.org petition that has already garnered more than 50,000 signatures.
What’s the beef? First, there’s the character arc. Fans have become infuriated with several “inexplicable” and “counter-intuitive” personality changes of the star players, especially Dany (Emilia Clarke), who has apparently become a mass-murdering psychopath.
Second, there are sloppy mistakes, such as the infamous Starbucks coffee cup being accidentally left on-set.
The Change.org petition calls for a redo, this time with “competent writers” instead of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
The petition snipes: “David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e., the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

COMEDY LEGEND TIM CONWAY DIES AT 85 – (05/15/2019)
Tim Conway, best known for his work on The Carol Burnett Show, died on Tuesday morning in L.A. He was 85. Howard Bragman, Conway’s representative, told CNN that he was battling a longtime illness prior to his death, but said it was not dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Conway won four Emmys (three for acting, one for writing) for his work on The Carol Burnett Show, from 1967-1978.
After The Carol Burnett Show ended, he worked on Disney live-action comedies like The Apple Dumpling Gang, then won several more Emmys for his roles on sitcoms Coach, 30 Rock and for his voiceover work in SpongeBob Squarepants.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Patton Oswalt, Conan O’Brien and Judd Apatow were among the celebrities who memorialized him on social media.
His costar Burnett told CNN: “I’m heartbroken. He was one in a million, not only as a brilliant comedian but as a loving human being. I cherish the times we had together both on the screen and off. He’ll be in my heart forever.”
She dedicated a previously scheduled one-woman show, “An Evening of Laughter and Reflection Where the Audience Asks Questions,” to Conway’s memory last night in North Carolina.
Conway married twice, first to Mary Anne Dalton from 1961 to 1978, with whom he had six children. Conway is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Charlene Fusco.
The family is asking that donations be made in his memory to The Lou Ruvo Brain Center at the Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TAYLOR SWIFT & JONAS BROTHERS ANNOUNCED AS ‘VOICE’ FINALE PERFORMERS – BTS NOT MENTIONED – (05/15/2019)
Earlier this week, The Voice teased a surprise announcement from the Jonas Brothers and BTS, but didn’t follow through with the K-pop band. Now, the BTS ARMY is coming for them.
As the show teased Monday, the Jonas Brothers appeared – via a pre-taped message – to announce that they will be hitting The Voice stage next week. Following the Jonas Brothers’ message, host Carson Daly also dropped some big news. “If that wasn’t enough news… Taylor Swift is also going to be here with Brendon Urie of Panic! And they’re gonna do their new hit, ‘ME!’“ Daly declared.
However, The Voice had not promoted the news of Swift’s involvement in the finale, but instead posted that the Jonas Brothers and BTS would be making announcements on Tuesday’s results show.
While the Jonas Brothers came through, there was no mention of BTS during the episode at all, and the glaring omission wasn’t mentioned on the show’s social media accounts.
The BTS Army were highly upset, with many accusing The Voice of “catfishing” and false advertising. They spammed the show with outraged memes and GIFs, demanding an explanation, an apology, and/or the hour back of their lives that they’d just wasted.

HOLLYWOOD GRIEVES AS DORIS DAY DIES AT AGE 97 – (05/14/2019)
Doris Day has died, nearly two months after turning 97. The blonde star’s sunny screen presence captured America’s hearts, along with the box office. She was celebrated as the wholesome “girl next store” in an era dominated by screen sirens. In the 1940s, 50s, and 60s Day dominated the box office with a series of blockbuster, fun-loving hits.
Celebrities, including Goldie Hawn, Carl Reiner, William Shatner, Paul McCartney and George Takei shared their grief on social media.
McCartney wrote: “So sad to hear of Doris Day passing away. She was a true star in more ways than one. I had the privilege of hanging out with her on a few occasions.”
He continued, “Visiting her in her Californian home was like going to an animal sanctuary where her many dogs were taken care of in splendid style. She had a heart of gold and was a very funny lady who I shared many laughs with. Her films like ‘Calamity Jane’, ‘Move Over, Darling’ and many others were all incredible and her acting and singing always hit the mark.”
Day died at 1:00 am on Monday at her home in California, her rep told People. Since the 1980s, Day has kept a relatively low profile, choosing to devote most of her time to charitable causes and her 11-acres in Carmel.
Day rose to fame on the radio, appearing with the with the Big Bands of Barney Rapp and Bob Crosby, and enjoying her first hit with Les Brown’s Band in “Sentimental Journey.”
Day went solo in 1947, auditioning for Warner Bros. Her most well-known hits include 1954’s Love Me or Leave Me, a fictionalized, biopic of ’20s singer Ruth Etting and 1956’s The Man Who Knew Too Much, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and co-starring James Stewart. In The Man Who Knew Too Much, she sang her Oscar-winning song, “Que Sera Sera.” She also starred in Calamity Jane and Pillow Talk.
Day’s work garnered an Oscar nomination and multiple Golden Globe awards, including the Cecil B. DeMille in 1989. In 2009, she was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2004, President George W. Bush awarded her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
While her career was successful, her personal life was sometimes less-than-stellar. Three of her four marriages ended in divorce, and her third husband (also her manager) Martin Melcher died and left her penniless. She later sued to reclaim $20 million from his business partner.
In a rare interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, Day admitted she still gets fan mail. “I get so many love letters from fans as young as 8 years old, telling me they were introduced by my films and music by their great-grandmothers, and my movies make them happy. Different films resonate with viewers for different reasons, but the common thread seems to be that my films are uplifting,” she told the magazine. On the topic of her legacy, she added, “I enjoyed working and always tried to do the best job I could with every role. I’m thrilled to know that people are still watching my films and are uplifted by them.”
In a statement, the foundation she created encouraged fans to make donations in her honor. “Doris’ wishes were that she have no funeral or memorial service and no grave marker,” the Doris Day Animal Foundation, which the actress founded in 1978, said in Monday’s statement. “Friends and fans wishing to remember Doris Day, are encouraged to visit www.dorisdayanimalfoundation.org.”

It looks like the cover may also include a potential song lyric – “I’ve tasted blood and it is sweet.”
Halsey sent fans on a scavenger hunt this weekend by hiding lyrics to the song in cities across the country. She has been on top of the charts with her song “Without Me.”
It has been almost exactly two years since she dropped her last LP – Hopeless Fountain Kingdom – in 2017.

JOHN MAYER ACCUSES KARDASHIANS OF STARTING DATING RUMORS: John Mayer claims Kourtney Kardashian’s family started the rumors about them dating. Mayer swears there has never been any sexual chemistry between him and Kourtney, despite speculation last year suggesting otherwise, and is convinced her famous relatives – including sister Kim Kardashian West and mother Kris Jenner – were behind the false gossip. Speaking on SiriusXM, John told his friend Andy Cohen: “Little suspicious about the origin of the story…not sure the call’s not coming from inside the house on this one. If the call is coming from inside the house…it’s diabolical and genius because when people start gossiping about you and someone else, and they start putting your pictures together, it gets real suggestive.” Tongues began to wag last year when an eyewitness claimed they saw John and Kourtney flirting at the GQ Men Of The Year party and overheard him saying it was “sweet serendipity running into you,” but John says he’d never say such a “corny” thing.
