HALSEY, JOHN MAYER ROMANCE RUMORS – (11/08/2018)
Is Halsey cozying up to John Mayer following her split from G-Eazy? The longtime friends have been spending a significant amount of time together virtually and in real life.
Halsey, 24, recently Instagrammed a video of herself FaceTiming Mayer while out for a drive, captioning the clip, “7am carpool karaoke with John Mayer.” Fans have spotted Mayer, 41, in Halsey’s Instagram comments on several occasions.
He recently popped up among her fans to ask for a little IT support from Halsey on Monday after she posted an ad for a YSL Beauty Lipstick.
“It’s saying that my billing address doesn’t match with the one of my credit card? I’ve never had this problem before. Can you text me? Thanks,” he wrote. Halsey was quick to quip back, “@JohnMayer wrote u a song with the help hotline # in the chorus. Sending mp3 now.”
Even when he wasn’t commenting on Halsey’s photos, Mayer has hit the “like” button on several of her photos, including one of her sporting her Poison Ivy costume for Halloween and others.
Fans got especially curious about the flirtation between Mayer and Halsey on October 16th, when she shared a screenshot of the text she drunkenly sent him on what she thought was his birthday. In it, she gushed about how being “lucky to have dipped the smallest toe into your waters. Blessed to even watch your current from afar.”
The pair have long been rumored to be an item and have been quick to shut down speculation – and this time is no different. On Wednesday, Halsey tweeted: “I just had a ground breaking idea. What if…we let female artists…have friends…without assuming that they are sleeping together?” She added “I know I know. It’s like, completely ambitious but like, imagine if we like, tried?”
SELENA GOMEZ LEAVES PSYCHIATRIC FACILITY? – (11/08/2018)
On Tuesday, Demi Lovato resurfaced on Instagram after 90 days in rehab. Now, her childhood friend and fellow former Disney star is reportedly out of her own treatment facility.
E! Online reported that Selena Gomez has left the psychiatric facility where she’d been treated since early October for what’s been described as an “emotional breakdown.” A source said, “Selena is out of her treatment program in NYC and is doing much better.”
The singer was reportedly hospitalized a number of times for medical issues related to her Lupus and subsequent kidney transplant. The stress of that led to the so-called “breakdown,” according to an insider. But now, dishes the insider, Selena feels “refreshed and is in a better head space.”
Still, Selena will continue consult with health care professionals, adds the source. She reportedly “wants to lay low for a while and isn’t ready to go full force into working yet.”
Prior to the incident, Selena had taken a break from social media, writing, “Just remember – negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings.” She’d also done an Instagram Live video in which she described feeling like “people were picking me apart.”
NOTE: E! has since removed their story on Gomez’s reported release. It was unclear at press time if she remains in treatment.
IS WILMER VALDERRAMA HELPING KEEP DEMI LOVATO SOBER? Demi Lovato is easing back into her life post-rehab, and her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is helping her settle in, TMZ reports. While they haven’t been spotted out together, sources say they talk several times a week and meet up as well. The website claims nothing romantic is afoot; Lovato has also been spotted out with clothing king Henry Levy, whom she met many years ago in a previous rehab stint.
ARIANA GRANDE STUMBLES WHILE PERFORMING ON ‘ELLEN’; DROPS ‘BREATHIN’ MUSIC VIDEO – (11/08/2018)
Ariana Grande performed her new single “Thank U, Next” on Ellen Wednesday morning, amplifying the song’s theme by appearing with two dancers on a set made up to look like a wedding reception.
Midway through the song, she climbed on top of a chair and stumbled as she stepped down from it, but she literally laughed it off, breaking up the verse with an “Oh my god” and laughing during a couple of the following lines.
Grande and her backup dancers, Tayla Parx and Victoria Monet, channeled the 1996 movie First Wives Club. The trio wore all-white ensembles on the stage, which was decorated to look like a wedding reception. Grande had shared a photo with Parx and Monet on Instagram prior to the performance.
“first wives club 2018 …… @thellenshow tomorrow,” she captioned the post. “i love you @victoriamoney @taylaparx … thank u, next.”
Grande released “Thank U, Next” last week. The song’s lyrics reference several of the singer’s ex-partners, including ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, ex-fiancé Pete Davidson and late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

ARIANA GRANDE NAMED BILLBOARD’S 2018 WOMAN OF THE YEAR – (11/07/2018)
Ariana Grande has been named the 2018 Woman of the Year by Billboard. Grande will be presented with a Woman of the Year award at the 13th annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala in New York on December 6th.
The singer has had an eventful year, releasing her fourth studio album Sweetener in August. The release reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and earned the largest streaming week ever for a pop album by a female artist upon its release.
“Ariana Grande is a star on her own terms, never bending to any particular musical trend or path in the industry,” Billboard’s VP of content Ross Scarano said in a statement. “Certain in her convictions, she consistently stands up for herself and her decisions in a world that often isn’t hospitable to that sort of strength in young women. She’s got guts, she’s making some of the best music of her career, and she’s absolutely deserving of Woman of the Year,” he continued.
Grande joins a list of past winners that include Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Pink, Fergie, Madonna and last year’s winner Selena Gomez.
“Thank u for this honor @billboard,” Grande said on Twitter Tuesday.
Ariana also released a lyric video for her latest song, “thank u, next.” The track features Grande singing about her past relationships with Ricky Alvarez, Big Sean, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson.
The new video displays the words of her song on uneven, faded pink pieces of paper against a matching background, employing a ransom note effect. An occasional lipstick print appears by the lyrics, adding to the vintage feel created by the choppy footage.
SOCIAL HOUSE JOINING ARIANA GRANDE ON HER ‘SWEETENER’ WORLD TOUR: Ariana Grande announced that pop duo Social House will join her Sweetener World Tour, along with fellow opening act Normani. Social House – made up of Los Angeles-based musicians, writers and producers Michael “Mikey” Foster and Charles “Scootie” Anderson – co-produced Grande’s recently released “thank u, next” song. The duo have also written and produced songs for Chris Brown, Steve Malcolm and Jennifer Lopez before releasing their debut single “Magic in the Hamptons” featuring Lil Yachty this past summer. While the two have not announced an album, they recently shared their second single “Higher.” Grande’s 2019 Sweetener World Tour is set to kick off March 18th in Albany, New York.

In addition to serving as a groomsman at the wedding, John also sang his famous cover of Beyoncé’s song “XO” for the happy couple. Danielle posted some footage of the performance on Instagram, along with a lengthy explanation.
“Jensen brought many new and wonderful friends into my life and the friendship of @johnmayer is at the top of the list. His immense talent is only overshadowed by his humor, his heart, his sincerity, his loyalty, his candor, and his generous spirit,” Danielle writes.
She adds that she is “obsessed” with John’s version of “XO,” adding, “He played it for us live at the Forum last year simply because I told him how much I loved it. Thank you, John, for all of it.”
