IDRIS ELBA IS PEOPLE’S SEXIEST MAN ALIVE: Idris Elba has been crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine. The 46-year-old Brit has become one of Hollywood’s most respected stars, People points out, starting with his breakthrough role in America as drug kingpin Russell “Stringer” Bell on HBO’s hit series The Wire to his role as Heimdall in Marvel’s Thor franchise. Elba is the 33rd man to receive the honor. He tells the magazine of his awkward high school years: “I was very tall and skinny. And my name was Idrissa Akuna Elba, okay? I got picked on a little bit. But as soon as I could grow a mustache, I was the coolest kid on the block. Grew a mustache, had some muscles, bonkers.”

REBEL WILSON APOLOGIZES FOR BLOCKING CRITICS ON TWITTER: After Rebel Wilson appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said she was the first plus-sized woman to star in a rom-com, and then defended herself on Twitter even as several critics pointed out Queen Latifah, Mo’Nique, Melissa McCarthy and others had starred in rom-coms previously, she began blocking people who disagreed with her. So many in fact, they created a hashtag community, #RebelWilsonBlockedMe. Monday night, she apologized, not only for her initial comments, but also for blocking people, explaining she was “hurting.” She wrote: “With the help of some very compassionate and well-thought out responses from others on social media, I now realize what I said was not only wrong but also incredibly hurtful. Again, I am deeply sorry.”

ANDREW LINCOLN REVEALS ‘WALKING DEAD’ PEEVE AS FRANCHISE PREPARES NEXT LIFE – (11/06/2018)

After appearing on The Walking Dead for the last time Sunday night, Andrew Lincoln sounded off on the AMC show with The New York Times.

He says that he shared many fans’ distress at the death of Steven Yeun’s Glenn.

“Because Steven Yeun was such an important part of the rhythm of my years,” Lincoln said. “If anything, it’s probably like being in a boy band — you only have each other as a reference point. And then they start taking them away from you.”

Plus, he didn’t like the way Glenn was killed (with a baseball bat until his eye popped out).

“We’ve been able to terrify people in film for 100 years without having to show an eyeball,” Lincoln said. “When that happens, it diminishes what we’re trying to make, which in my mind’s eye is a family drama set in hell. It’s not a sort of B-movie gore-fest.” Lincoln also suggested that “it would be more disturbing just keeping the camera on Maggie’s face,” and that “maybe that’s why I want to direct, because I want to make what I’ve been filming in my head.”

THE WALKING DEAD LIVES

Meanwhile, AMC is planning to expand the universe of The Walking Dead, with a series of three films set to begin production next year.

“It’s not the beginning of the end, it’s the end of the beginning. And I like the idea that we get to tell a bigger story, maybe with a sort of wider vista,” Lincoln said on The Talking Dead, AMC‘s after-show about the zombie hit. “I’ve always been interested in what’s going on out there, you know, whether or not there is contact with the wider world.”

Lincoln himself will lead the films, which will tell the story of what happened to him post-show. Fan favorites Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Melissa McBride (Carol) have also signed new deals. Reedus, who also hosts and exec produces AMC‘s motorcycle series Ride With Norman Reedus, will make $350,000 per episode on top of additional guarantees and advances in a deal that sources say could be worth anywhere from $50 million to $90 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McBride will earn an estimated $20 million over three years, per THR

ARIANA GRANDE REVEALS NEXT ALBUM TITLE, DROPS ‘THANK U, NEXT’ SINGLE – (11/05/2018)

Ariana Grande is already working on plans to release her upcoming fifth album and has revealed the title – “Thank U, Next.”

Ari took to Twitter on Saturday to open up about the album, which she wrote with one of her best friends, Victoria Monet. “a new chapter 🖤 gratitude, growth, embracing our path bumps n all …. thank u, next,” Ariana wrote. “no drags…. no shade….. jus love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness … and growth 🖤”

She added, “this what happens when u write an album w your best friends lol @VictoriaMonet they dig up all your old sayings and it ends up becoming the album title lmao.”

Just a few hours after announcing the title of her new album, Ariana released the first single off of it – “thank u, next. In the first couple lines of the song, Ariana sends some love to her exes including Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Pete Davidson, and the late Mac Miller. “Thought I’d end up with Sean, but it wasn’t a match //Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh // Even almost got married, and for Pete, I’m so thankful // Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm ‘cause he was an angel,” Ariana sings.

The song dropped about 30 minutes before Davidson’s show Saturday Night Live aired. He, too, addressed the break-up, saying live on the show, “I know some of you are curious about the breakup, but the truth is, it’s nobody’s business. Sometimes things just don’t work out and that’s okay.”

Davidson added of Ariana, “She’s a wonderful, strong person and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world. Now please go vote on Tuesday, all right?”

ANDREW LINCOLN TO REMAIN IN WALKING DEAD UNIVERSE: Rick Grimes’ story isn’t over yet, despite the airing of his “final” episode in the iconic AMC show Sunday night. The network has announced that Lincoln will star in multiple movies that will continue the story of his Walking Dead character; the first will begin production next year and explains where he went after taking off in a helicopter at the end of Sunday’s episode. “It’s not the beginning of the end, it’s the end of the beginning,” said Lincoln himself in a statement. “And I like the idea that we get to tell a bigger story, maybe with a sort of wider vista. And I’ve always been interested in what’s going on out there, you know, whether or not there is contact with the wider world. I want to know the meta of it all. And I suppose to be able to kind of touch upon that in a contained story for me is a very exciting proposition… Maybe it’s the start of a bigger story.”

ARIANA GRANDE FREAKS OUT AND GETS INJURED IN ESCAPE ROOM WITH JAMES CORDEN – (11/01/2018)

More than two months after Ariana Grande showed off her injured hand, fans are finally learning how she hurt it – in a haunted escape room with James Corden.

Right in time for Halloween, The Late Late Show with James Corden aired Grande and Corden’s spooky afternoon at 60OUT Escape Rooms that ended with the pop star’s hand in a bandage in August.

“I love Halloween,” the singer started. “I love being scared. I think it’s so much fun. … Usually escape rooms aren’t that scary, but I do love escape rooms.”

As soon as the duo entered the escape room, which was captured on grainy black-and-white footage, Grande had second thoughts. “You told me this was an escape room, not hell,” she exclaimed in the dark room. “Can I go back?”

Faced with darkness, and other beings within the creepy confines, Corden and Grande navigate their way to completing the challenge, but it’s as they attempt their final escape that things get truly dangerous. While being chased by a masked figure, Grande slips and injures her hand, which solves the mystery of the bandaged hand from August.

“That’s not an escape room, that’s one of the seven gates to hell” Grande tells Corden as they drive away.

Ariana was in a much safer space with the BBC, where she recently recorded several of her songs for an upcoming special airing today. Backed by an all-female choir and orchestra, Grande performed several Sweetener songs, including “God Is A Woman.”

Meanwhile, Ariana has covered up another tattoo she got with ex Pete Davidson. In a sentimental Instagram story, the 25-year-old songstress showed off a new tattoo on her hand while thanking her friends who have been supporting her.

The new tat covers up what used to say “Reborn” and now appears to be a feather or a fern.

“I have no words to describe how much i love and am eternally grateful for these human beings who constantly help me turn lemons into lemonade and literally heal me and put me back together,” Ariana captioned the Boomerang. She also included the names of her friends who have been by her side.

IT’S A (SEE-THROUGH) WRAP! MEGHAN MARKLE ENDS ROYAL TOUR IN MEMORABLE SKIRT – (11/01/2018)

The pregnant Meghan Markle’s sartorial choices frequently give fans a double-take—generally for their stunning elegance—but some are wagging their fingers at the Duchess of Sussex for the skirt she chose to wear on the final day of her royal tour of New Zealand, Fiji, et al.

Meghan paired a stunning royal (natch) blue Givenchy sweater with a (gasp!) sheer blue, pleated skirt.

Was it a wardrobe malfunction or intentional? No one at the palace will say, but Twitter has opinions, with some calling it “stunning,” and haters slamming it as “inappropriate.” Still others were quick to point our that this wasn’t her first slip-up on the royal tour: in Tonga, she wore a red Self-Portrait dress bearing the tag.

REP: KATIE HOLMES IS NOT ENGAGED: Everyone freaked out for a sec when a pic of Katie Holmes wearing a sparkler on that finger hit the ‘net, but no. She is not engaged to her long-time rumored love Jamie Foxx. She’s just getting ready for a role, her rep told Entertainment Tonight.
