JANET JACKSON AMONG ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME NOMINEES: Janet Jackson, Def Leppard, Devo, John Prine, Stevie Nicks and Kraftwerk are among the 2019 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Also on the list are LL Cool J, MC5, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Roxy Music, The Cure, Todd Rundgren, Rufus & Chaka Khan, and The Zombies. The 2019 inductees are slated to be announced in December. A ceremony honoring them is planned at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 29th.

ARIANA GRANDE & PETE DAVIDSON MAY HAVE ALREADY FINALIZED THEIR PRENUP: Ariana Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson has joked many times about how much more money she has than he does, and a source tells People that the couple is either close to finalizing, or has already finalized, a prenuptial agreement. According to Fortune, as of last year, Ariana was worth tens of millions of dollars, thanks to album sales, tours, her perfumes and her deals with companies like Reebok. InStyle puts her net worth at $45 million, and Pete’s net worth at around $3 million, thanks to his SNL gig and small parts in movies. On the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, Pete joked to fellow SNL cast member Colin Jost, “Obviously I wanted [a prenup], you know…God forbid we split up and then she takes half my sneakers!” He added, “No, look, I’m totally comfortable being with a successful woman; I think it’s dope. ADAM LEVINE’S NEW MUSIC COMPETITION SHOW ‘SONGLAND’ COMING TO NBC: Songland, a new show executive-produced by Adam Levine is headed to NBC. The 11-episode series also has Eurythmics member Dave Stewart as an executive producer, and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder as a producer. The show is designed to give up-and-coming songwriters a chance to get their works heard and recorded by top music stars. CAMILA CABELLO RELEASES ORCHESTRA VERSION OF ‘CONSEQUENCES’ – (10/10/2018)

Camila Cabello has shared a brand new orchestral version of her song “Consequences.” The track is set to serve as the 21-year-old singer’s finale single off her debut album Camila, which she performed at the American Music Awards last night.

“A lot of people say ballads like this are ‘risky’ and with every single I’ve picked I get looks like I have three heads, because people always want you to go with a song that sounds like something that’s already on the radio,” Camila said.

“It would be playing it safe for me to make a song that sounds like ‘Havana’ or another uptempo song, but to me, my goal is to challenge myself by not doing what feels predictable or obvious, to do things that excite me, and give you the most honest representation of who I am through music,” Camila added. “I know sometimes it’ll work and other times it’ll fail, but that’s okay with me.”

POST MALONE TO MAKE ACTING DEBUT IN MARK WAHLBERG MOVIE: Post Malone and Mark Wahlberg will soon have more in common than being white rappers. Walhberg, the former frontman for Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch, has gone on to have a thriving career in Hollywood. For his next film, he’ll be acting alongside the “Better Now” rapper. Post Malone will join the cast of the upcoming Netflix film Wonderland. Wahlberg, Winston Duke, Iliza Shlesinger, Alan Arkin, and more have also signed on for the film adaptation of the 2013 Ace Atkins novel Robert B. Parker’s Wonderland. It’s not known yet what role Post Malone plays, but Wahlberg will reportedly play a detective trying to uncover the truth about a murder. The film’s director has already said to expect sequels if the film is a hit. Netflix has not set a release date.

ED SHEERAN SINGS ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ TO BRUNO MARS – (10/09/2018)

On Monday, while backstage at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, Bruno Mars made fellow musician Ed Sheeran serenade him for his birthday.

“You know you’ve made it when you can hire Ed Sheeran to sing you Happy Birthday #ExtraForever! #HappyBrunoMarsDay!” Mars captioned a clip of Sheeran, 27, singing.

In the video, which was shared on Instagram, Sheeran can be heard belting “Happy birthday to three-time Super Bowl-performing Bruno,” as Mars munched on a cupcake assortment while wearing a gold party hat.

As the song came to an end, Mars demanded Sheeran start over, which he did without any objections.

Mars was in Tennessee as part of his 24K Magic Tour, which kicked off in September. In August, the Grammy Award winner revealed he added singer Ciara to his tour after Cardi B dropped out to stay with her newborn daughter Kulture Kiari.

In addition to Ciara, Mars announced Charlie Wilson, Ella Mai and Boyz II Men will also be joining him on the road.

The 24K Magic Tour will end on December 31st in Las Vegas.

DAKOTA JOHNSON DENIES BEING PREGNANT: Dakota Johnson is correcting reports (through her rep, per People) that she is pregnant with her boyfriend Chris Martin’s baby. It all started after pink and blue balloons were spotted at the Coldplay frontman’s home. Reps explain that Johnson was just celebrating her 29th birthday. It ended up being a star-studded fete, with her parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, as well as pals Julia Roberts and Sean Penn stopping by to party. 

BRAD PITT ISN’T DATING AN MIT PROFESSOR: Shattering the dreams of nerdy women everywhere, MIT professor Neri Oxman confirms that she never had a fling with Brad Pitt, despite persistent rumors to contrary. In a New York Times profile, she “emphatically” denied dating Pitt. The 42-year-old met Pitt via an architecture project at MIT, where she words as a professor of media arts and sciences. Pitt, 54, is still working through the details of his split from Angelina Jolie, with whom he shares six children.

SHAWN MENDES PERFORMS ‘TREAT YOU BETTER’ WITH CLASSROOM INSTRUMENTS – (10/09/2018)

Shawn Mendes performed his 2016 smash “Treat You Better” using classroom instruments alongside The Roots and Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on last night.

The “Classroom Instruments” segment has been performed by many acts with Jimmy and The Roots in past years, including Adele, Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello.

Shawn stopped by the show just one night before the AMAs, at which he’s up for two awards: Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary and Favorite Social Artist.

Taylor Swift had plenty of surprises in store this weekend for the last two U.S. dates on her reputation Stadium Tour.

Friday night in Dallas, Maren Morris joined Taylor to do sing her pop hit, “The Middle.” “Did we just become best friends?” Maren asked on Instagram, along with a photo of the two rehearsing.

“Got to play my hometown stadium with this woman. Thank you Taylor Swift. Congratulations on a mind-blowing tour.” Later, Maren also posted a performance clip of the two from the concert.

On Saturday, Taylor brought out Sugarland for the first-ever live performance of “Babe,” their current country hit together.

“‘Babe’ live for the first time tonight in Dallas!!!!” Taylor shared on her socials, along with a clip of their collaboration. “THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN.”

Taylor and Train singer Pat Monahan co-wrote “Babe” several years ago, and Sugarland recorded it for their current album.

Later this month, Taylor takes the reputation Stadium Tour to Australia, before heading to New Zealand and Japan; on Tuesday night, she’ll open the American Music Awards, airing live on ABC.

ARIANA GRANDE EXPLAINS WHY THERE’S A CRIB IN HER APARTMENT – (10/08/2018)

Ariana Grande posted a photo and fans immediately noticed something in the background that caused a frenzy.

The 25-year-old entertainer posted a photo with what appears to be an infant’s crib or playpen in the background. Fans quickly began asking what was in the background.

“Why is there a baby crib in the back tho?” one fan wrote, to which Ariana jokingly responded, “[My] secret child duh.”

Even Katy Perry was confused and wrote, “WHAT ARE YOU COOKING IN THE CRIB.”

Then, Ariana decided to explain why there’s a play pen in the background. “That’s Piggy Smalls’ play pen in the background. The red is to keep [the pig] warm,” she wrote. Ariana and Pete Davidson recently adopted the pet pig together.

HFPA APOLOGIZES TO DREW BARRYMORE: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (they put on the Golden Globes) is apologizing to Drew Barrymore for a bizarre EgyptAir magazine interview that went viral last week. The piece included observations about her “failed relationships” and misquotes about her approach to parenting. It was written by former association prez Aida-Takla-Reilly. “Ms. Barrymore has been interviewed by HFPA members many times and we always appreciate her willingness to speak to us,” they said in a statement. “As an organization comprised of journalists, the HFPA expects its members to uphold the highest degree of integrity in their journalistic activities. Based on our preliminary investigation, we understand that parts of the article in question were not written by Dr. Takla-O’Reilly and that other portions of the article may have come from other sources. We regret any distress caused to Ms. Barrymore by this article.”

KELLY CLARKSON JOINING JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IN THE NEW ‘TROLLS’ MOVIE: Kelly Clarkson has joined the cast of Trolls World Tour, the upcoming sequel to the hit animated film Trolls. Kelly will voice a character named Delta Dawn, the mayor of the Country Trolls. Her character’s name was evidently inspired by the song of the same name, which was a huge country hit for Tanya Tucker in 1972, and a No. 1 pop hit for Helen Reddy in 1973. Kelly will sing an original song in the Trolls sequel, which will see the return of the original Trolls voice cast, including Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick and James Corden. Newcomers include Sam Rockwell, Anthony Ramos and Chance the Rapper. Trolls World Tour will arrive in theaters April 17, 2020. This is the second upcoming animated movie project for Kelly; she’s also voicing a character in the Uglydolls movie.
