WARNER BROS. SENDING ENTIRE 2021 SLATE SIMULTANEOUSLY TO HBO & THEATERS – (12/04/2020)
Fans and industry observers are shook after learning that Warner Bros. plans to send its entire slate of films in 2021 to HBO Max and theaters simultaneously. Warner Bros. announced last month that Wonder Woman 1984 would land on HBO Max and in theaters at the same time Christmas Day, but most thought it was a blip related to the pandemic.
The films this affects include: The Matrix 4, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune remake, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical adaptation of In the Heights, Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, Denzel Washington’s The Little Things, a remake of Tom and Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat and The Suicide Squad.
WarnerMedia chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff referred to the model as a “unique one-year plan,” with execs saying it won’t extend into 2022.
“We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group,” Sarnoff said in a statement. “No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do. We know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021.”
“With this unique one-year plan, we can support our partners in exhibition with a steady pipeline of world-class films, while also giving moviegoers who may not have access to theaters or aren’t quite ready to go back to the movies the chance to see our amazing 2021 films,” she continued. “We see it as a win-win for film lovers and exhibitors, and we’re extremely grateful to our filmmaking partners for working with us on this innovative response to these circumstances.”

JUSTIN BIEBER IS TIRED OF SELENA GOMEZ FANS BULLYING HIS WIFE – (12/04/2020)
Justin Bieber is tired of Selena Gomez fans trying to “bully” his wife Hailey Bieber.
Justin shared a video to his Instagram stories on Thursday (December 3rd) that showed a fan encouraging others to bombard Hailey’s Instagram Live with comments about “Jelena and how Selena is better.”
In a lengthy post, Justin wrote, “This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better so on and so fourth [sic]. I just wanted to share this so people get an idea of what we face on a day to day.”
Hailey spoke out on Instagram as well. She wrote, “I would never in a million years wish for someone to be treated this way and I will never condone this kind of hateful behavior. I want only to support, uplift, and encourage other women in this industry and wish them nothing but love and success and I wish for all of my followers and supporters to do the same!!”
ARIANA REVEALES RARE SNAP WITH BOYFRIEND – (12/04/2020)
Ariana Grande revealed a rare photo of her with her real estate broker boyfriend on Instagram Wednesday (December 2nd).
Among the series of photos captioned, “some life stuff” was a black and white snap of her and Dalton Gomez kissing.
E! reports that the two made their first public appearance back in March but have otherwise been private about their relationship.
WORKER REVEALS WHAT MEGHAN AND HARRY WERE LIKE CHRISTMAS-TREE SHOPPING – (12/04/2020)
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a serious holiday purchase: their Christmas tree. A worker at the lot where they selected the tree shared an account of the trip on Twitter.
He wrote: “Meghan and Prince Harry came into my work today and we sold them their Christmas Tree. We had our lot empty when they got there—their agent promoted them a good time to come instead of us shutting it down. There was one family in there and their stoked little son ran through trees up to Harry and asked if he worked here not knowing who that is.”
James also addressed a question about their general demeanor, writing: “They seems like very nice people honestly. Meghan sounds very kind and Harry sounded and acted like a chill lad honestly. I’m really glad they liked our trees. We got the best we could get from Wa. Very appreciative :)”
No details on the size or type of tree. The pair are expected to spend the holidays in Montecito with their son Archie due to the pandemic.

TAYLOR SWIFT REVEALS RE-RECORDED VERSION OF ‘LOVE STORY’ IN AD – (12/03/2020)
Taylor Swift revealed a clip of her re-recorded version of “Love Story” in Ryan Reynolds’s new Match.com ad on Wednesday (December 2nd).
The clip shows Satan falling in love with a woman named 2020, but according to E! it also shows a subtle dig at Scooter Braun.
Eagle-eyed viewers will notice that in the background of the ad, a discarded scooter sits on the ground in front of a dumpster with the number six spray-painted on the wall behind it to symbolize the number of masters that the singer will re-record.
Braun took ownership of Swift’s catalog in June 2019 and sold them to Shamrock holdings in November 2020. On November 16th, Swift revealed she already started re-recording her music catalog, which includes the albums Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation.

The singer told Howard Stern on Wednesday (December 2nd) that even though the video for their song “Prisoner” is pretty graphic, it’s “just the standard pop culture manipulation.” However, she said if Lipa was interested, she’d “take the bait”.

JOHN MULANEY INVESTIGATED: John Mulaney was investigated by the Secret Service after he hosted Saturday Night Live, he says on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The comedian dubbed the presidential election an “elderly man contest” and argued that no matter who ended up winning, “nothing much will change in the United States.” He got serious blowback, but the joke about Julius Caesar being a powerful maniac who deserved to be stabbed to death earned him an investigation by the Secret Service. “I guess they opened a file on me because of the joke, and I have to say: Am I stoked there’s a file open on me? Absolutely. Did I enjoy it in the moment? Not so much,” he told Kimmel. Mulaney has since been cleared by the Secret Service.
NIKE ANNOUNCES NEW SUB-LABEL WITH DRAKE – (12/03/2020)
Nike has announced a new sub-label with Drake entitled NOCTA — which is a nod to his “nocturnal creative process.” Drake said about the new label, “This moment is full circle for me. I mean, growing up Nike was everything. It felt like every shoe I wanted, every athlete I liked, everything I owned was Nike.”
He added, “It didn’t mean anything unless it had a Swoosh.”
The line will be released on December 18th.

OSCAR-NOMINATED ELLIOT PAGE COMES OUT AS TRANSGENDER – (12/02/2020)
Elliot Page, the Oscar-nominated star of Juno, has come out as transgender. Elliot, previously known as Ellen, shared on social media: “Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.”
Page continued: “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive. Page uses he/him and they/them pronouns, and describes himself as transgender and non-binary, meaning that his gender is neither man nor woman.
Page’s wife Emma Portner is fully supporting Page. “Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world,” Portner, 26, added in the caption. “I also ask for patience & privacy but that you join me in the fervent support of trans life every single day. NEW LAW SAVES BTS FROM MILITARY SERVICE – (12/02/2020)
South Korea’s Parliament passed a new law that will save members of BTS from having to serve in the military.
On December 1st – only three days before Jin’s 28th birthday – South Korea’s National Assembly passed a revision of the Military Service Act that allows K-pop stars to postpone their military service until they are 30.
According to the New York Times, the previous law required all able-bodied men to enlist in the military for approximately 20 months upon turning 28.
JENNIFER LAWRENCE BREAKS SILENCE AFTER FAMILY FARM’S FIRE – (12/02/2020)
Jennifer Lawrence is speaking out for the first time since learning that her family’s farm in Louisville, Kentucky burned down.
“I want to thank my Louisville community for reaching out to my family and me following the devastating fire that sadly destroyed a significant part of Camp Hi Ho,” the actress, 30, told People in a statement.
Her brother Blaine Lawrence runs a summer camp. “Thankfully, because of our amazing firefighters and first responders, no one was hurt and all of the animals were kept safe,” she continued. “I grew up on that farm, going to Camp Hi Ho every summer. When my brother Blaine took it over, he applied his creative mind and fun loving spirit and expanded a camp that was already the coolest, because it was the only place where kids could do whatever they wanted. A muddy messy paradise.”
The Oscar-winner added: “I’m grateful to Camp Hi Ho for the amazing childhood memories. My family and I are working together to help Blaine through this. And we are so grateful for the widespread support from the community to get Camp Hi Ho back up and running so we can welcome kids back this summer.”
According to local reports, 30 firefighters with half a dozen trucks spent more than an hour putting out flames. In an email obtained by TMZ, Blaine detailed the damage, noting that the bar was lost, and it contained his office space, stalls for their horses, an indoor riding area for kids, an indoor rock wall, a native wildlife display, an arts and crafts area and a garage with farm equipment and a nurse station. He asked for donations to rebuild.

DRAKE IS RELEASING A CANDLE THAT SMELLS JUST LIKE HIM – (12/02/2020)
Drake is set to release a scented candle that smells just like him. According to InStyle, the rapper has teamed up with Swiss fragrance house Givaudan and perfumer Michael Carby for his line, entitled Better World Fragrance House. Drake’s signature scent is entitled Carby Musk and it “features a smooth musk fragrance with notes of musk, ambers, cashmere, suede, and velvet. It retails for $80. In addition to the signature scent, the rapper will have four other scents, including, Sweeter Tings, Williamsburg Sleepover, Good Thoughts, and Muskoka, which will all retail for $48.
According to Revolve, the scent is a “personal fragrance” that Drake wears. The candles are currently sold out but more are expected to arrive this holiday season. Drake has been gifting his candles to friends celebrity friends including Kehlani, Steph and Ayesha Curry, Snoh Aalegra, and more.
