‘TENET’ TOPS BOX OFFICE AGAIN AS ‘NO TIME TO DIE’ IS PUSHED – (10/05/2020)

Tenet reached $45 million domestically in a tepid box office market that has the number 2 chain in the U.S., Regal, reportedly considering a partial shutdown due to economic pressures. If Regal goes dark, Deadline reports that it could deliver an additional 18% blow to the B.O.

This weekend, Tenet, starring Robert Pattinson, managed $2.7 million, while Disney’s re-release of the 1993 family film Hocus Pocus managed $1.925 million.

MGM doesn’t want its next major flick to expire at the box office, so No Time To Die is heading to an Easter weekend opener. The James Bond flick will open April 2, 2021, the same weekend that Universal’s F9 will bow.

“MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, today announced the release of No Time To Die, the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be delayed until 2 April in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience.  We understand the delay will be disappointing to our fans but we now look forward to sharing No Time To Die next year,” said the studio in a statement.

The Daniel Craig-starrer was set to open on Thanksgiving, but given the tepid state of the box office right now, MGM doesn’t want to imperil a film that is expected to bring in $1 billion.

CHADWICK BOSEMAN’S BROTHER REVEALS THEIR LAST CONVERSATION – (10/05/2020)

Chadwick Boseman‘s brother Derrick has opened up about his last conversation with his brother before he passed of colon cancer last month. Derrick, a pastor from Murfreesboro, Tennessee told The New York Times, said that Chadwick told him, “Man, I’m in the fourth quarter, and I need you to get me out of the game.” Derrick continued, “When he told me that, I changed my prayer from, ‘God heal him, God save him,’ to ‘God, let your will be done.’ And the next day he passed away.”

He added that during their family prayer calls, Boseman would always say “Hallelujah,” adding,  “He never stopped saying it.”

Meanwhile, Boseman’s other brother Kevin spoke of Chadwick’s early days as an actor and his work ethic despite their parents’ initial doubts. Kevin said,  “A lot of people think making it means becoming an A-list movie star. I didn’t force that. I just knew that if Chad wanted to work in the arts, he would find a way and take care of himself.”

Chadwick was 43.

KATE BECKINSALE DEFENDS CHRISSY TEIGEN FROM TROLLS – (10/05/2020)

After Chrissy Teigen shared intimate details of the loss of her pregnancy, some people criticized her on social media. She and John Legend were expecting their third child together, and had shared the ups and downs of their pregnancy on social media; when she lost baby Jack, she shared the news.

Kate Beckinsale saw the comments, she jumped to her defense, revealing that she too lost a pregnancy, and that there was no right or wrong way to grieve.

She wrote: “I’ve noticed people criticizing @chrissyteigen for sharing deeply intimate photos of the loss of her baby. As if there’s some protocol during soul-scouring calamity that, if not observed, emboldens people who do not know her or her family to say how she should be handling the unimaginable.”

She added: “Years ago, I lost a baby at 20 weeks. I had managed to keep my pregnancy quiet and I absolutely collapsed inside and no one would have known. There is grief, shame and shock so often that come with an experience like this, plus the heartbreak of your body continuing, after the loss, to act as if it had a child to nurture.”

Beckinsale shared that her breast milk had come in despite there being “no one to feed.” She called the experience the “loneliest, most soul destroying period of time, particularly if you are not in the position of having an emotionally connected, supportive partner like Chrissy has.”

She concluded: “Thank you @chrissyteigen for making sure it is abundantly clear how devastating this is, and how life changing it can be without support. Let’s let the grieving decide what’s right for them. Send support or keep quiet. This is a really hard time to bear. Blessings and hugs to all x.”

Teigen’s mother Vilailuck Teigen, also shared a tribute to her late grandson.

MARIAH CAREY REVEALS WHY SHE AND NICK CANNON DIVORCED – (09/30/2020)

Mariah Carey has revealed that the strain from being a working mom took a toll on her marriage to Nick Cannon. In her memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she said, “Along with double the joy came double the responsibility. It was a lot of work and a lot of having to be home and available.”

She continued, “Making the necessary adjustments to being working parents in entertainment took its toll on our relationship, and the end of our marriage came fast, as it began. She explained, “Honestly, I think Nick and I could have worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions got inflamed (which can translate into many billable lawyer hours, and ultimately, it did. It was tough. We both wanted to make sure everything was cool for our family.”

Mariah and Nick tied the knot in 2008 before welcoming twins Morrocan and Monroe in 2011. They divorced in 2016.
