ELLEN DEGENERES CALLS NO EYE-CONTACT RULE ‘INSANE’ AS AN UGLY TWEET SURFACES – (08/19/2020)
Finally, something everyone can agree on. During an emotional Zoom call with her staffers Monday, Ellen DeGeneres addressed several issues related to the “toxic” work environment she reportedly oversaw on her eponymous show.
According to insiders, the host said she had no clue where the unspoken rule dictating that no staffer could look her in the eye came from.
The 62-year-old said: “I don’t know where it started. Please talk to me. Look me in the eye.” Describing the rumored rule as “insane,” DeGeneres continued, “It’s crazy, just not true, I don’t know how it started. [It’s] not who I am.”
WarnerMedia is reportedly nearing the end of its investigation into The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Thus far, three top producers‚ executive producers Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman and co-executive producer Jonathan Norman, have been fired. They were accused of bullying behavior and sexual misconduct.
Interestingly, DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who publicly supported DeGeneres during the investigation, has been named co-executive producer.
Meanwhile, Page Six unearthed another ugly remnant of her past. She tweeted on June 5, 2009: “I made one of my employees cry like a baby on today’s show. Honestly, it felt good.”

ED SHEERAN DEMO ALBUM UP FOR AUCTION: A rare copy of Ed Sheeran’s first demo album is being auctioned – and he is probably not happy about it. ELLEN DEGENERES BURGLARY AN ‘INSIDE JOB’ – (08/17/2020)
Ellen DeGeneres seems to have made a lot of enemies. The talk show host, who is currently the subject of an internal investigation into her eponymous show over reports of a “toxic environment,” was also victimized in a burglary that police are calling an “inside job.”
The burglary took place last month at the $27 million estate she shares with wife Portia de Rossi, and a sheriff was quoted in a recent Montecito Association newsletter that the crime was committed by someone they know, according to reports.
Her famous neighbors include Oprah Winfrey, Ariana Grande and now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
“If it had been a case of outsiders coming in and breaking and entering, I’d have alerted you to be on the lookout and lock up everything,” the newsletter read. “According to our very helpful Sheriff Lt. Arnoldi, that appears to be an inside job.”
The investigation is ongoing.

‘TRUTH HURTS’ LAWSUIT AGAINST LIZZO DISMISSED – (08/17/2020)
A California judge has dismissed the case against Lizzo regarding the writing credits and royalties of her hit song “Truth Hurts.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, the U.S. District Court Dolly M. Gee dismissed a counter-lawsuit from brothers Justin and Jeremiah Raisen who claimed they deserved writing credits for “Truth Hurts.” The legal docs from Judge Gee said, “Without deciding who, in fact, authored the songs at issue, and without reviewing the songs’ recordings or lyrics, the Court can determine that Counter claimants allege that the parties collaborated on, and finalized, one song — Healthy — before Lizzo allegedly copied portions of that song to make Truth Hurts.”
Gee continued, “As a matter of law, therefore, even if Counterclaimants are co-authors of Healthy, they have not alleged any ownership interest in Truth Hurts, which they claim is a derivative work of Healthy.”
Lizzo sued the brothers in October 2019. In her suit, she asked that she get a declaration saying that the Raisen brothers were not songwriters for the song and therefore were not entitled to any profits. They countersued the Detroit native and said that “Truth Hurts” was just another version of a song titled “Healthy” that they had all wrote in 2017.
Lizzo denied their story, saying that the only lyric that is a product of their writing session is that ended up on “Truth Hurts” is: “I just did a DNA test turns out I’m a hundred percent that b–ch” — which was by songwriter Jesse Saint John Geller, who has received writing credit.
TOM CRUISE BANS CO-STARS FROM RUNNING NEAR HIM – (08/17/2020)
Tom Cruise seems like a complicated guy. The mysterious Scientologist and onscreen hero’s personal life has long been the subject of fascination, and weird reports have trickled out over his decades in the spotlight about his personal tics, none of which can really be verified.
The latest? He doesn’t let anyone run on-screen with him. Annabelle Wallis tells The Hollywood Reporter of starring with him in 2017’s The Mummy: “I got to run on-screen with him, but he told me no at first. He said, ‘Nobody runs on-screen [with me],’ and I said, ‘But I’m a really good runner.’ So, I would time my treadmill so that he’d walk in and see me run. And then he added all these running scenes. So, that was it.”
She says: “It was, like, better than an Oscar. I was so happy! I was so happy that I got to run on-screen with Tom Cruise.”
The action star is known for doing his own stunts. For 2018’s Mission: Impossible—Fallout alone, the 58-year-old performed a HALO (high altitude low opening) jump, which required a skydive from 25,000 feet with a parachute opening at below 3,000 feet.
Next up, he’s literally headed to space to film a movie, according to NASA.
