DUFFY WAS RAPED, DRUGGED & HELD CAPTIVE FOR DAYS – (02/26/2020)
Singer Duffy said in her first public Instagram post on Tuesday that she left the spotlight almost 10 years ago because she had been kidnapped and raped.
Duffy, real name Aimee Anne Duffy, said opened up about the incident to a journalist who found her last summer and that it felt “amazing” to talk.
“The truth is, and please trust me I am OK and safe now, I was raped and drugged and held captive over some days,” Duffy said. “Of course I survived. The recovery took time.”
Duffy rose to international fame in 2008 after the release of her song “Mercy,” which was featured in Grey’s Anatomy and the Sex and the City film. She won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2009.
It is unclear when or where the alleged kidnapping occurred or whether Duffy contacted the police. She said she plans on releasing a spoken interview in the coming weeks in an effort to answer any questions.

ALICIA KEYS, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, BEYONCÉ PERFORM AT KOBE & GIANNA BRYANT’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE – (02/25/2020)
A public memorial to honor Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and the seven other people who died in a helicopter crash last month took place at the Staples Center on Monday.
Many celebrities, athletes and artists were invited to participate in the event and pay their respects.
Beyoncé got things started, performing moving renditions of her hit songs “XO” and “Halo.” One of Kobe’s favorite songs was “XO” and Beyoncé asked the room to join her in singing. She started her performance with a message for the crowd:
“I’m here, because I love Kobe and this was one of his favorite songs. So I want to start that over, but I want us to do it all together and I want you to sing it so loud they hear your love. Are y’all ready? Love you.”
Alicia Keys took the stage for a performance during the Celebration of Life. Seated at a purple piano, Keys was joined by a string quartet to perform Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.” Before Alicia took the stage, Kobe’s longtime friend and current General Manager for the Lakers Rob Pelinka shared a story about how Kobe taught himself “Moonlight Sonata” on the piano just so that he could perform it for wife Vanessa.
Christina Aguilera was the final performer to take the stage. She was joined by an orchestra to perform “Ave Maria.” The solemn performance concluded with the singer blowing a kiss to Bryant’s family.
The public memorial also included words from Jimmy Kimmel, Michael Jordan, Sabrina Ionescu and an emotional speech from Vanessa Bryant.

BEYONCE BANNED PHOTOS OF HER PERFORMANCE DURING KOBE BRYANT MEMORIAL – (02/25/2020)
Reports say that photographers were banned from taking photos of Beyonce during her performance at Kobe Bryant‘s memorial at the Staples Center yesterday (February 24th). According to Page Six, editors at the AP and Getty Images told the Post that organizers the live-streamed Staples Center event prohibited them from taking photos of the singer or Bryant’s children.
One insider at the event said, “It is so offensive to Kobe’s family and the fans, Beyonce is so controlling of her image — she usually only allows approved selected images of her to be released — so no photographers at the Kobe memorial were allowed to take her picture. Really, at a memorial? Not even the family of Michael Jackson did that.”
The insider continued, “A Staples Center staffer was dispatched to make sure not a single camera was focused on the stage. The photographers couldn’t believe it. This doesn’t help Beyonce’s image at all, it hurts her. It makes her look like a diva. The memorial wasn’t about her. The only shots of Bey that did emerge were screen grabs from TV. None of the other artists at the memorial asked for this, not Christina Aguilera, not Alicia Keys.”

HILARY DUFF PUTS ‘CREEPY’ PHOTOGRAPHER ON BLAST – (02/24/2020)
Hilary Duff hit up Instagram after a photographer approached her and her children, and started taking pictures of them without her permission. Her kids were playing football with several other kids.
The 32-year-old recorded her exchange with him on Instagram: “Paparazzi shooting KIDS Go ‘practice’ your photography on ADULTS! Creep! Laws need to change! This is stalking minors! Disgusting!”
The cellphone footage shows Duff approaching the photographer and asking him if he knew anyone playing. When he admitted that he didn’t, she asked him to stop snapping shots, and he replied: “It’s legal.”
Duff continued: “I’m asking you human-to-human, as a mother, if you don’t know anyone here, would you please stop taking pictures of our children playing football.”
He continued, saying he was “practicing his photography” and that Duff’s anger was “unwarranted.”
He then told Duff she was herself making the situation “creepy,” then put his hand over her cellphone camera lens.
Duff’s friends, including Busy Phillipps, had her back. In a comment, she wrote: “This isn’t about his job or his ‘rights.’ This is about his OWN perceived POWER over others. I imagine it’s the only time this pathetic person feels any power in his life. I know it’s illegal for an adult not with a child to be inside a playground- how is taking pictures of children without parental consent legal?!??”

‘FRIENDS’ REUNION SET FOR ‘HBO MAX; – (02/24/2020)
The cast of Friends is reuniting on HBO Max. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer are starring in a reunion special for the forthcoming streamer; the service drops in May.
Just don’t call it a reboot or a revival. The six former costars and real-life pals will chat about their show; they reportedly are getting a hefty payday for the special. The taped unscripted reunion special will be directed by Ben Winston.
“Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together—we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library,” Kevin Reilly, chief content officer, HBO Max and president, TBS, TNT, and truTV, said in a statement. “I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends—and audiences—gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”
The mega-hit NBC sitcom ran for 10 seasons, and the reunion has been long-rumored and eagerly sought after by generations of fans. The show, which ran from 1994-2004, got a second life on Netflix, and found a diehard set of fans among millennials and Gen-Zers.
WarnerMedia’s HBO Max snapped the service off of Netflix and bought exclusive rights for the streamer for next five years.
Will Ross and Rachel end up being on a break? TBD.
