The Most Anticipated Movies of 2019
The most eagerly anticipated 2019 film releases are Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel, according to the social movie ticketing app called Atom Tickets. Toy Story 4 rounds out the top 4. “Although we expect to see some movement in preferences as release dates near and studios ramp up marketing efforts, there were clear winners in each category. The battles for box office dominance between Dwayne Johnson, Lupita Nyong’o, The Avengers, and Star Wars will be epic, and the 2019 slate looks great overall,” said Matthew Bakal, Chairman and Co-Founder of Atom Tickets.

Box Office Recap – 12/26/2018
‘AQUAMAN’ SWIMS TO $67M VICTORY – (12/26/2018)
As expected, Aquaman emerged victorious at the box office this long weekend, taking an estimated $67 million.
Critics weren’t as enthused: Aquaman currently has a 64 on Rotten Tomatoes, but audience buzz is good. Aquaman earned an A- on CinemaScore. The film stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman, among others.
The House of Mouse released the Emily Blunt-toplined Mary Poppins Returns, bringing in $23 million and helping to push Disney past a domestic annual gross of $3 billion for the second time in three years, the only studio to reach that park. Observers predict Mary Poppins will have long legs; critics approved, giving the movie a 77, and audiences agreed, with an A- on CinemaScore.
Paramount’s Bumblebee rounds out the top 3 with $21 million.
