Having Plants Can Help With Stress Levels
Go ahead and buy an indoor plant—it could help you feel less stressed. Licensed mental health counselor Jesse Radloff says, “Researcher has been done examining the effect on people while being in an indoor environment with or without plants. Not only did the people in the rooms with plants self-report feeling less stressed and happier, their cortisol (a stress hormone) was also lower than those in non-plant rooms.” She adds that there’s a type of mental health therapy called horticultural therapy which “among other activities, involves caring for an indoor plant to improve mood, motivation, stress levels, and feelings of self efficacy.” Another expert says if you’re new to indoor gardening you should consider starting out with an easy plant, such as a snake plant, pothos, philodendron, or dracaena.

The Conway Scenic Railroad has Added Another Trip to The Mountaineer!
Today on The Magic Morning Show, Gino was joined by Conway Scenic Railroad Owner Dave Swirk via the phone and they discussed the Conway Scenic Railroad‘s Mountaineer Train and how they are adding another trip to their schedule. Feel Good Story of the Week: Chihuahua Saves Owner’s Life on Houseboat
A true hero, Boo-Boo the dog is credited with saving owner Rudy Armstrong’s life after he realized he was having a stroke on his houseboat. When Rudy came to the realization that he couldn’t reach his phone, he told Boo-Boo to “go get help”—and she faithfully obeyed. A short time later, Boo-Boo returned with the dockmaster, who summoned paramedics. The two were reunited in a tearful reunion 5 days later.
