Magic 104 Local Spotlight: Sydney
Today on The Magic Morning Show, Gino shined the Local Spotlight on independent musician, Sydney. Sydney is a Maine local originally from Richmond, ME and she’s an R&B/Pop artist. She just recently put out the music video for her most recent single,“Ride For Me”, which is a song about the moments before you fall in love. Sydney joined Gino on the show this morning and talked all about Sydney‘s music, past collaborations, making music videos, and how promoting local artists is now more important than ever. Wingzilla & RiverFire Cancelled For 2020
Official Word from The Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce: Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak it is with regret that we inform you that WingZilla & the Luau ATV Poker Run and RiverFire & the Zombie ATV Poker Run have been cancelled. The timing and the uncertainty surrounding the outbreak has contributed to significant challenges in planning these large events and we feel it is best for the health & safety of our volunteers, vendors, attendees and community.

Our Friend Jon: The Documentary is Available On Amazon Prime Now!
Today on the Magic Morning Show, Gino was joined via the phone by filmmaker and good friend Edward “Ted” Payson. They discussed Edward’s new documentary called “Our Friend Jon” and how it is NOW available on Amazon Prime and other streaming platforms.
ABOUT THE FILM: The movie is about a young man named, Jon Hernandez. Jon was an aspiring filmmaker who loved horror movies and wanted to create his own. He even went so far to write his own script, however before Jon could go on to make this film, he became very ill and passed away in 2013. Jon suffered from Sickle Cell Disease or Sickle Cell Anemia. 300,000 children are born throughout the world each year with this disease, and it can lead to all sorts of health complications, including stroke, and death. 176,000 people died from Sickle Cell Disease in 2013, Jon Hernandez was among them. Jon was a member of a group out of Southern NH where all the members have a disability, some mental, some physical. Jon considered this group to be his friends and they all loved Jon very much. In honor of Jon’s life and his dream to be a filmmaker… his friends all decided to take Jon’s script and make the movie themselves, despite their own disabilities.
A Hollywood film crew, led by Edward, flew out to NH to catch the whole process on film. Our Friend Jon is absolutely an amazing “feel good” movie and has won numerous awards.
