If you think your vote doesn’t count, think again. At yesterday’s Conway Town Meeting voting, Article 22, seeking to appropriate $399,000 to build bathrooms ended in a TIE vote—581 to 581. No word yet on any possible recount. The closeness of vote was reflected in the vote for Conway Selectman, as incumbent Carl Thibodeau retained his seat, defeating Joe Mosca 591 to 512. Thibodeau had favored the restrooms, while Mosca has come out as anti-potty, noting that the bathrooms were a good idea, but not if taxpayers foot the bill. In the five-way race for Conway Planning Board, Bill Barbin and Mark Hounsell were the top vote getters.

An upset in the school voting. Longtime Conway School Board member Joe Lentini was defeated with 624 votes while Ryan Wallace and Cassie Capone got 707 and 708 votes respectively. For the two-year school seat, Barbara Lyons keeps her position, beating Jerry Goodrich 646 to 455

Sports betting and Keno in Conway both failed to pass. Sports betting and Keno in Conway both failed to pass. The vote was substantial against the two proposals. Sports betting going down 718 to 436 and Keno losing out again 799 to 365

Article 6 granting the planning board to grant conditional use permits for cluster housing passed.
